So I was browsing the Beoplay website, and was prompted with a "Looking for a new tv?". This advertisement only led me to the Beovision TVs, the V1 wasn't mentioned.

So I started to look on both websites. The Bang&Olufsen site shows all other Beoplay products than the V1. The Beoplay website shows the V1 if you browse all products, but the "buy section" is removed.

So it seems like the V1 has hit the end of the product cycle.

I still hope they will replace it with a TV that is equally awesome and at a similar price point. I still love my V1, and have never considered replacing it with anything only than a Beoplay or B&O TV. But the B&O TVs are still out of my price range. The V1 was my entry into the B&O world. Without it I would have bought my other B&O speakers.

Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.

My B&O dealer says that a new BeoPlay TV will come summer 2016. A 4K TV in 40" and 48".

But have no ide about the price.

Are you sure that it is a beoplay product?

I want a new Beoplay TV. I doubt a Beovision will come close to the V1 price range.

I'm in no hurry to buy a new TV, but I think it's a shame that the Beoplay range doesn't offer a TV.

I really think it depends if you think of Beoplay as a price level or as a true plug and "play" range. The V1 was never really sold on-line in the same way as the other Beoplay products as ,for most of us , it required dealer installation like the B&O tv we had before it. I personally look forward to the TV assuming even if it's a bit more expensive as long as it remains different I it's aesthetic.

For me the V1 was my entry into B&O, so I didn't really need a dealer installation. That being said, I did buy my V1 through the local B&O store and it did come with a dealer installation.

That only added to my admiration of the brand, but you might be right on the price point being above what the average consumer will pay for a product online. The more expensive a product gets, the more likely it is to be bought in a physical store. The V1 might have been hit by this fact.

The reason the V1 was cheaper (other than the material use) was the lack of features and the limited speaker connections. I don't think this will be possible if you move up to the Bang & Olufsen brand. People will expect more from a Bang & Olufsen branded TV.

There are two new BeoVision's ready for launch in the not to distant future.

One can be described as a facelift of the BV11 featuring 4k, but B&O says it's a new model. The other one is a replacement for the V1-range, this will be more Beoish design vise and should have a broader appeal (more aluminum). It will feature 4k as well, and will come in at least two sizes with 48" as the largest one.

B1 dealers should get a closer look at them in Struer next month (April).

BV11-series is approaching EOL, same goes for Avant 75 and 85 (and updated versions of these will be ready this summer, too).

Interesting that you didn't mention Avant 55 Roger, does that mean its EOL as well or not updated?

Given that the new TV will be Android can the current generation be updated with the Android software as well?

thanks
Vince

It would be nice if they gave these TVs a name rather than a number. I find the number game truly impersonal!

V1 is the quite evocative name of bombs produced in Wolfsburg for delivery to London and ,while most Beoplay products share the naming with Audis, so does the Avant TV. I don't feel the need for a "name" for my next TV beyond a code like V1.

It's unusual the a smart product to not have a name (apart from a few cars) even cycling bib shorts have names like T'Equipe or Inferno. Ouverture always sounded nicer than 2500. Maybe it's because I don't into many material things so I see that soul and life more in something :)

I would not compare my TV to my cycling shorts!

its interesting that children refer to TV as the media shown on it rather than the object.

Doesn't sound like you're the target market anyway for the new V1......

I love the name V1 - i don't mistake it for anything else than a B&O TV

I think it will be possible to make a B&O tv at the Price range of the V1. When the new Avant came out, it was much cheaper than the BV 11.
And now - with the new partnership with LG, I think we can expect even lower prices, and - hopefully - a few more models.
What Roger writes in his post sound very interesting - a new version of the BV 11 and a smaller "entry-level" tv in more "Beoish" design than the V1.
I guess that could be a "hit" .
