Hi All,

I was wondering if there was a way to control the MLGW through Bluetooth controls?

I waiting for a couple of Bluetooth controllers that I order through a kickstarter camping, the Senic Nuimo:

https://www.senic.com/

And I would like to be able to control basic commands for my beovisions like volume, turn off, change channel etc.

Any ideas.

Thanks

Toby

Hi Toby,

I´ve ordered 2 units of the Senic controls as well and have exactly the same idea as you.

I´ve been looking at the mammutbox (www.mammutbox.com), it´s a small interface that is a bridge between B&O remotes and the Beolink app to control other equipments via RF, IR, Bluetooth or via network.  I´ve asked them if it should be possible that they could expand their existing product to allow RS232 or any other interface so you can hook up their product with the MLGW or BLGW.

I´ve also presented the two companies for each other since Sinic was searching for a Bluetooth bridge and I was thinking that the mammutbox could work as such for them since it already have interaction with several products and have bluetooth interface.

I see big potential for using these controllers to control both light, spotify, sound, video etc in one and the same control unit.

I forgot to mention that they already have developed interaction with the essence bluetooth control and can interface against several bluetooth units at the same time.

A good idea could perhaps be that you also contact the mammut box team and ask for the same type of development, they have not got any requests so far to develop a interface with the BLGW/MLGW so if we are more people requesting this they maybe starts to understand that they maybe have a growing business.

Could you provide more information on this - especially on the interaction with the Essence-box?

I think the best is if you go to their homepage and test the config interface for the mammutbox there, you can there see what you can configure the Essence control to do. http://www.mammutbox.com/config/

Since I today have not ordered my mammutbox yet I can´t give to detailed information, it´s better that you drop an email to info@mammutbox.com and check with them.

@Stefan E

Thanks for coming back on this.

The provided link however, leads to a Google Account login site.

I don't have a Google login --- and I do not want any!

I'll see what I can find out without being 'a member of that club'.

@Stefan E.

Just that I understand it?

This thread started by mentioning the scenic-thing/-wheel.

Where does the Mammutbox come into play there - and why???

I am just looking for an alternative to the original wheely (in fact I am just curious).

Hi MM

I mentioned the Mammutbox since I´ve asked the developers if they could develop an interface for Scenic Numio wheel and also possible an interface to the BLGW/MLGW.

My self is in the situation there I would like control my LIFX lights from my B&O system and the Mammut box is the closest to a possible interactionI´ve been able to find on the market. When I found out the they have added functionality for bluetooth controls I directly saw the potential if they could add support for the Scenic´s Numio wheel and it´s a very stylish (B&O style) product.

I´ve written to both companies and introduced their products for each other, since I see the potential to have the Scenic Numio control in combination with the Mammutbox. Also was Scenic raising a question to their community if members did know any bluetooth gateway they could interact with for their product. This since they have faced problem to have their Apple TV app approved since it was not allowed to let the app have an active bluetooth connection via bluetooth when it was not in focus.

That was little bit history why I´ve mentioned this.

When I first mentioned it for Mammutbox team they replied that they have not got any request about these interfaces from any other customer or potential customers, so if we are several that raise this request to them - they maybe will be more intrested do this development (and hopfully they are able to sell more of their product to B&O owners).

Hi Stefan,

I have drop an email to Mammutbox as well, as this would be a good solution if it ever got off the ground.

Will let you know if I hear anything back.
