Hello All,

I'm just starting the restoration of a Beogram 4002 (Type 5524) and before I start asking questions about the usual non-dropping tone arm issue, I wondered if anyone can tell me whether the metal keyhole shaped locating lugs on the plinth should be flat, or whether they should have some sort of twist on them to pull the deck plates down into position as you slide the plinth back into locking position.  Can't entirely tell from the parts diagram.

The slightly twisted version I have doesn't look entirely kosher to me.  As the height of the plates (and the platter) is determined by this arrangement, should I just straighten them out in a bench vice?

Many thanks,

Simon

On mine the 2 back ones at each side are a little twisted, the front side ones and the front middle are straight, here my thread

Hi Soren,

Thanks for that.  All five of mine are out of true by between 3 and 4mm.  Careless previous owners, I would guess.

Regards,

Simon

Probably because of missing spacers (plastic gets brittle and brakes after some years), I left mine as is in the pic and made new spacers of aluminum, Beolover can provide new 3D printed spacers
