The cd player in my 9000 unit will not read cd's at all, and I was wondering if it could be swapped out with the newer horizontal moving laser system found in the 9300 unit, Please advise if you know!!!  Or how I can reasonable get the cd player to work without spending $350 for a tech to fix it.

The 9300 CD mechanism is not compatible with the 9000.

The 9000 CD mechanism can likely be repaired using a 50p replacement capacitor. An experienced tech should take no more than an 60-90 minutes to change the capacitor. If you are handy with a soldering iron you could do the job yourself!

Search on the "old" forum for C2103 where you will find all the info you require.

hi, my 9000 spins and reads the disc but i have no sound , all other channels fine ( radio/aux/phone/tape)

do you reckon thats a different issue? is the c2103 issue more about the cd spinning ?

hi

if it play cd, the time is going well, you can change the tracks, and if you have sound in over source like radio, your problem can be in the mute circuitry.

you need to check signals before the mute with oscilloscope on pin 7 right channel and pin 7 left channel on ic6306 /6307 LM833

if you have ac signals, the mute is active .
