For the past year I have been researching, on and off how to integrate a Non-BV tv into my existing system. I recently bought my home and it came with a B&O home system. I consider myself pretty good at figuring out how to use and customize systems. B&O I'm finding is very difficult to research and understand. Thus, I've turn to a community with the hopes to find some answers. It's probably best if I lay out the system so you have an understanding of what I've got.
Beovision 7-40 with motorized mounting center channel speaker
Bola 4000 front and back
Beolab 2 subwoofer
Beocenter 2 master unit
another set of beolab speakers in the kitchen
and I seem to be running two amps for everything. B&O amps or pass throughs
I have a beo 5 remote that controls everything.
Hopefully this gives you an idea of what I've got and you can shed a little knowledge. The tv is from 2008 and it's got 4 HDMI ports. My fear is that someday the TV is going to die and I can't afford to replace it with another B&O tv. Can I mount a non Beovision tv?

A good TV should last many years. 15 years shouldn't be a problem. My Aunt has my Panasonic TV from 2003 and it's as perfect as it was back then. Just enjoy it and don't worry - remember God given life is never guaranteed for the next day!
I won't talk about the Beo5 - someone else can on that :)
If the Beovision 7-40 lasts another 5 years, the cost to buy another one would be minimal, and a TV like the Avant 55 or BV11-40/46 would be a lot cheaper. just worry about it when it happens.
Agreed - just enjoy your setup!
However, if you have specific questions, feel free to place them here on the forum.
A B&O setup may be a bit hard to 'understand' - but that is just because one has a lot of different option with using it :-)
As times come, you will learn more - if you want to.
Tip - get yourself a Beo4. It might be easier to handle in the beginning and for everyday use.

People tend to either love or hate the Beo5/6. After having used the Beo5/6 for awhile, I absolutely LOVE it and greatly prefer it over the other remotes. What's great about the Beo5/6 is that you can program it to be personalized to meet YOUR needs for what works most ergonomically for you. That is, you can reposition the buttons and rename them for what makes sense to you. One thing that I have done is to highlight the most-used buttons on a screen in a color that makes them stand out. If you get into home automation, the Beo5/6 is absolutely indispensable. There is a forum on here for the Beo5/6. In that forum, you can find suggestions for how to get your hands on the programming software. The programming is actually quite fun.
