Hey, same music, same CD player... Yes

I have a few old sheets of Letraset and Mecanorma. But if someone could do that, my Mac tells me the font is indeed Helvetica 12. Is there anything like special inkjet paper to do transfers?

A few pics of the Beomaster 5000. I am currently working on the wooden top. It had a few chips, so I am re-veneering with tiny bits of palissander!

New, clear meter!

Inside... See the special antenna DIN plug...

Note the 240V setting.

Cleaned, deoxidized outputs.

The new galvanometer's polarities are inverted! Now working, and beautiful again... It just misses the stereo beacon bulb.

The funny lines on the front left veneer are artifacts.

It is very clean both inside and out... for myself it is on to another Beogram1700 as I work towards building another complete Beosystem 1600.

Glue those magnets while you have it all apart.

Hi Chartz

How did you get the meter so clear? Is it new, if so where from?

Cheers

After removing the woofer I found one inductor completely detached from the board, and on the other speaker the same inductor was loose but still in place. I was also surprised that the old caps were not glued to the board. Of course I followed Dillen's instructions and glued the new ones in place.

Thank's Martin, I've read that bit of advice before. I bought these on e-bay last year and feel lucky that the magnets survived the shipping, even if the inductors did not.

Dillen means the magnets on your woofers, they tend to come loose, no need to glue these small caps

Hi Soren, I did understand that Dillen was referring to reinforcing the magnets with a bead of glue and I also glued the caps per his instructions that came with the kit. I only had enough leftover cloth to cover one fret so I'll be doing the other one this afternoon.

I love the S-45. Maybe why I have two sets.

Finish BG1700 #2 and BG1700 #3 now sorting thru a second Beocord 1600. worked ok but the tape counter was stuck. Now Fixed -  I think and the LED display was out . Loose cable I suspect.

Wont know till I get it all recapped and into testing....

It will be fun to see someone else post up pics of their rebuild process... and no stealing of my stock photos is allowed.

and here it is a second Beosystem 1600, made a test recording last night. It is amazing how well that little 20W amp can drive a set of S-75's.

btw.... the Beocord 5000 deck as compared to the smaller more compact players is actually pretty easy to get apart and work on.  The CD50 is were you get to have all your fun.

Promise will not steal pics, all authentic, I had RL 140s on my 901 and same experience, amazing sound.

The only CD I ever did was 6500, easy to serve, caps and it was like new, I've been reading on about CD50 and its sure going to be interesting.

Well, the the RL 140s are long gone, I did those for a friend, together with his BS 6500, all in white, and now its in storage again, because his FS dont like the look, all for nothing, but a good experience.

Some (beep) had re-wired the DIN plugs in the Beomaster 5000 tuner, so that only the TAPE output was working, now fixed. The guy used pins 3 and 5 (?). Was he using a slide projector cable or what?   Surprise

I'm sick of that kind of fault!

Umm…you had a look at the service manual? As far as I know that's the original configuration, mine was just like that. The AUX-input on the Beolab is also "reversed".

Anyway, this is what I'm working on right now:

Someone has to save those for the future, too. Wink Most things are already fixed - there's an actual picture and all colors are back. Been trying to figure out the geometry issue for the last hour, alas, to no avail so far. Remote is also dead, although you can actually hear it sending signals.

Yes I had. I rewired as per service manual's diagram.

Also the mod was quite obviously done by an amateur.

Good luck with the geometry. Deflection amp?

Getting there. TR6 in Hor. Deflection is shorted. Let's see if I can find something in the spares box...

Actually the manual mentions you shouldn't hold the remote to close to your ears - you might get deaf. Cool
