Securing magnet, with epoxy, on my newly bought S45-2:s
Cleaned and bass in place again
so far concluded that the drivers are all original, the tweeter is the later 45-2 variant with the silk dome
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is rosewood right, will give the veneer a treat too soon but the magnet was priority no.1
I have a "Herdins kitchen bench oil" which is a vegetable based oil, wonder how different it can be from boiled linseed oil?

the DIN connectors on the back have been replaced by a speaker wire terminal on one of the speakers and by-passed on the other one with a wire directly to the crossover.
The internal cabling to the woofer is replaced on one of the them, pictured below. the same speaker have on the inside been completely covered with a thin fabric...
does this crossover look original except for the cabling to and from it?
the to do list includes 1# recap 2# veneer treatment 3# repaint of the stands 4# recover the front fabric

Replace the capacitors with reasonably priced Solen PolyPropylene caps 400V rating version.
Well, it was broken.
I would prefer to fix with much thinner wire warp wire, but guess what my FLCS did say to me.
No such a thing available any more! Just like previously on summer, I need 12V 2W signal light for my ordinary marine diesel, not available anymore, here is a ledlight? No cant put led to alternator signal light, so now I have plain bulb on it.

that is from CD5500, from mech to circuitboard, and it is ok now, but wirewarp would be more flexible than ordinary wire.

Just got a complete set of the Beomaster 8000 (my 2nd) including the Beocord 8000, Beogram 8000, M150 speakers (speaker refoaming) and also a complete Beomaster 6000 (4ch.) including the Beogram 6000, Beocord 5000, 4 x P50 speakers, remote and manuals. So, enough fun to do during my 3 weeks holiday Sh1t, forgot my wife
That SC70 cabinet looks great. I probably need to refurbish my SC80. Can you send me your steps? Did you mask off the metal trim and sand everything? Lots of questions I know.

Why should you mask the aluminum trim? Mine had lots of nicotine on it and was quite dirty. Just sand it together with the wood. preferably in one direction use a higher grade to finish it. That's it, quite easy, no hassle

HG furniture finish, told you, as simple as that, not to complicated and I use it for all type of materials, rubber aluminium etc.
Just wait until I finished my quad BM6000 and BM8000's sets with this stuff....
I have great technicians here in the Netherlands who will do the electronic parts for me, Ipaul, Beobuddy and Blackrix....
happy to see that you will work on BM/BG/BC 8000 ;). Good luck with them (but I'm sure you will do it well).
Maybe next time I will visit you, if possible, I could bring you my BG 8000. You (and your friends) could probably help me as it need a serious revision. My technician here in Paris (who fully restored my BM 8000 (I will bring it on saturday)) don't want to touch my BG 8000 as after restoring my BM8000, he definitely hate B&O ;)

I may have to have you send me a bottle (or can) to try. I haven't been able to find an online store that will sell and ship it to the USA.
It's a spray can John. Not allowed to ship, but I guess there are lots of other alternatives.
I found that HG does sell some of their products here, just not the HG Furniture Polish. They sell HG Hardwood Restorer and a HG Hardwood & Teak Color Renovator. I am tempted to try those two items though.
There is so much stuff available to do the job, no need to chase after a certain brand.
I normally use Linseed oil, allow to dry thoroughly - takes a couple of days, and then seal with Minwax Antique something-or-other - readily available all over the USA. With the appropriate fine sanding, and rubbing with steel wool, etc. And tons of patience!

Lots of patience, that's the trick! Doesn't matter what type of stuff you wanna use, Linseed oil, motor oil, HG oil, as long as you're happy with the result
Looking forward to see the progress on the newly acquired Beosystem 6000. It was a real pleasure to meet you and your friend today Leslie. The green display on the Penta's looks ever so more stunning now it has gone dark, especially with the black cloth which is a great improvement when compared to the original dull grey. They are stunning, my wife agrees ;) Speak soon i hope.
