Thank you Leslie, i most certainly will. Still need to play a little bit with the bass extension switch but the other switches have been straight forward. The Pentas and BM 3500 are here to stay, at least for quite a while. Please forward me the name of the powerlink supplier you mentioned. Although workable for now the ideal distance between the two speakers require a slightly longer cable perhaps. I will call you soon by the way, need some other advise too.

What did I do this day, hmmm
My Beolabs 4500 needs new 230V leads (has been cut off as usual) and needs new steel and perspex covers. Made some extra scratches on the metal plate (always wanted to do that )

For the moment I will leave the protective foil on until I have my BANG & OLUFSEN lettering.

Cleaning the cloths by using steamed water from the kettle (that how I used to clean my suede shoes looooooong time ago.
Waiting for my new perspex covers which I have ordered at my local perspex supplier and waiting for the BANG & OLUFSEN signs

And for a friend of mine I made new cloths for his Beovox 3000. The same touch and feel fabric but in black with some glitter. And new stainless steel covers. Final touch will be when I receive my BANG & OLUFSEN lettering... B&O is FUN

It's not finished Ed, my Beoab 4500 will hopefully finished at the end of the week. Today I finished my aluminium CX100's, refoaming and reclothing frets with this beautiful aluminum look cloth.
Ok, CX100's finished, today I got my transfer lettering by post so it's time to put them on my mirror polished flatpanel covers. One set Beovox 3000 has been new black cloths, new mirror plates and the lettering. New mirror plates for my Beolab 4500's and lettering as well. Now I'm waiting for my Perspex display covers. Another grey Beolabs 4500 that needs new display covers as well. I hate scratches on those covers.
Eager to see that with my own eyes !!!
I am currently trying to get back to life a Beomaster 2400-2.
Difficulties is to find parts, I need help for this.

Thats my intention, although not plugged in or opened yet, so I dont know what I'm heading. Could start a thread for it, but if there is a threat of WW3 by starting it...
First have to solve a little drawback with BC9000
It should deliver -9v to servo board, well it doesnt, and couldnt get new one at the moment.
This BC9000 is also going to be equipped with my newly printed CD holder.
What is that part? I probably have spares.
According beomanual it is BC818, but if it is, base resistor is here wrong. Parts can be found from net (rip off prices or delivery costs!).
Anyway, I want it now, so I will get its bigger sibling BC338 (0.14€) there. BC338 is used in Philips players in that position.

Absolutely amazing how you could refurbish the quite old panel speakers! Was is a big deal to get those new hand-crafted sheet metal parts and how was the B&O lettering done?

Not really, I ordered those sheets in the UK and bending has been done at a local store here in the Netherlands.

Just to give you an idea how it looks like when I did my Beolabs 5000 a while ago...
Another pair of RL60's saved..
They look like new, Leslie.
With polish spray you can actually make the cabinet as new D ick. As you might know the back of these type of cabinets are dust collectors and with a brush and some patience it's not that difficult to let them shine again. The embossing of the cloth is also quite easy if you know how to do that. Thin cloth and embossing first, let it dry and after that you do the rest.
Re-capped my Bevox 1200 today, and the result was amazing., next weekis re-cap my 1702s
Have just bought a pair of 5700 which will be delivered to me in a month, guess there will be some work there aswellBit stuck with my Beocenter 7700 which has a fualty FM radio,will order new belts to the tape mechanism....but firstI have a lot of cleaaaaaaning to do.....messy old sticky rubber which is stuck everywhere on the tape wheelsHave to buy some lamps and caps to my Beomaster 1200, re-wired the radio scale thred to it this weekend....that was very tricky, and I realize I have to re-do it. ,the wheel needs another turn of thred for the radio to reach all scale.

I think I would rather repair 100 stuck P45 woofers than take on a snapped dial cord.

I use Blu-Tac and beer - done in about an hour (after wasting some cord since the service manual specifies a too short length)
It helped once I realized the varicap pulley has a tab that can be used to keep the spring in tension while you make knots, so in a pinch, it is possible with only two hands...
It's not that bad!!!
After more than a few restrings, I don't get so uptight about it any more.
But I don't even start a restring, unless my wife is standing by to put her finger on the pulley, while I carefully wind the cord around the obligatory 2.5 turns (B&O style).
I'm sure it was a 2-person job in the factory.
