I have a AV7000 pro logic sound processor and want to connect an external IR receiver to the mini jack The purpose is to mount the eye away from the Plasma, which is disturbing the IR signal reception of the AV7000. Does anybody know which eye will work? Have tried to find information on the net and Bewoworld, but no luck. Will the Link eye 8087030 work? I know that Lintronic uses the eye with Plasma TV's any suggestions and ideas are appreciated appreciated!
I have the following setup:
Beosystem 6500 with turntable, CD and tape, connected to the AV7000. I have Beolab 3000 with displays working as front and back speakers connected to power link front and back on the AV7000, a passive center speaker connected to the AV7000 and a Beolab 2 subwoofer connected to the AV7000 Powerlink front.
I have cobbled together these diagrams for the various IR eyes I found whilst trying to connect one to my BeoMedia.Hopefully that might be of use. (note the different numbers of connectors on two of them

Hello,
thanks for the reply. Got it verified from B&O in Denmark that external IR eye 8087030 is the one that works with the AV7000. It also comes equipped with a minijack and a 5 meter lead. The eye is plasma shielded and also used by Lintronic in their setup, so that should solve the problem. Once connected the internal IR is automatically switched off; no config needed.
Just connected the IR eye and all problems are gone, now the AV7000/ Beosystem 6500 works as normal. Cheap fix!
Beware: connecting an external IR eye to the AV7000 has been known to blow a fuse.
