Beolab 8000 - switching off after use

Hi is it safe to switch them off at the mains everytime they are not used - are there any issues with power surges switching on everytime shortening their life?

I ask as mine are from Japan so run through a 240v/>110V converter which makes a hum so assume it is better powered off when not in use?

Hi,

If you don't want to switch to 110V back again, you can change the internal wiring in the Beolab, or a service-workshop can. Sadly there is no switch for several voltages, so the routings on the mains pcb must be changed

Thanks Chris, didnt realise they could be modified, but dont really want to go inside the speakers - I was was more conerned if there is an issue with switching them off at the mains after use and if that could cause longer terms problems?
