I inherited a BEOCENTER 3300 in rough shape. the volume slide bleeds and the treble control is shot plus some cosmetic issues. I was quoted "about" $300 to repair both items assuming they dont find anything else wrong. I would love to have this in my home but am wondering if i cant get a working unit for $300 or close to it. Any thoughts?
These are interesting machines - comprising a 1902 turntable and Beomaster 2200 made in one unit. Quite rare and they have an excellent sound. They are however large, especially as they do not contain a cassette recorder, and are not that sought after. I doubt they would fetch anything like $300 in the UK. It is worth attempting a fix yourself if you feel up to it, as otherwise this will be destined for a skip, as it will have minimal value if not working. Look for a Beocentre 7007 or 7700 as a replacement as these are remote control, have a cassette player and are of similar size. They are also more common.

Welcome to Beoworld !
Finding another Beocenter 3300 could prove difficult and, surely, eventual shipping to you could be costly. Most issues can be fixed and lots of parts are shared with the separate components thatPeter mentioned so not incredibly hard to come by as they are both far more common.
The older, and particularly the rarer, B&O things are always worth fixing in my opinion. How much to spend on it would be for you to decide but you won't get much work doneon any B&O for 300 dollars. Actually, I'm surprised that you found a place where theywould accept it in for repairs at all.And if it has a hint of sentimental value too...

any idea what unit has the same volume control as the 3300? im being told it has to be "rebuilt" since parts are not available.
I may be able to find a good used volume control. What's wrong with it ?
