I need help with my BeoSound 3000.

The power light (red) comes on on both the BS3000 and the speakers but all the buttons on the BS3000 and the remote control do not work except the load button on the BS3000 which opens up and closes the CD compartment.

Urgent assistance required. Have not played music or listened to the radio for a week now and it is very frustrating.

Has the option setting been changed?  Try A.OPT 1

It may require you to enter the PIN code to activate the system

It is unlikely to be the pin code as this causes the red led to blink when the pin code is locked.

Have you tried powering off the equipment for a few minutes then powering back on again.

Do you have a plasma screen in ten same room? This wouldn't cause the buttons to stop working but may block ir signals from your Beo4 remote.

Do you have anything else connected to the BeoSound3000? If so unplug Masterlink cable and/or Aux cable to see if an external source is causing the problem.

Hope one of these help.

I have powered the system off for even hours and the problem still persists.

However, as you said, I have a Plasma screen directly underneath the BS3000 and speaker of the Plasma TV was connected to the BS3000 but I have disconnected it ans the problem persists.

How do you change setting to A.OPT1?

Ensure that the plasma TV is turned off and Masterlink is disconnected!

Reset the option setting on the Beosound 3000  to A Opt 1 by pressing STBY and LIST together

Press LIST until display reads Option?

Press go then press LIST until display reads A.OPT

Press 1

Your remote will probably now work.

Hello Graham,

Thanks for your advice but I have done exactly what you asked but the problem persists. Mind you, it is not just the remote control that is not working, I cant also power it on from the BS3000 directly. Also all the while the plasma TV was there, the BS300 was working until recently.

Please offer more solutions if you can.

Thanks.

My daughter's BS3000 just started doing this too. Did you ever figure it out?
