AnalogPlanet:I like the idea of thin(ner) panel. Only keep wondering where to put the AppleTV, IPTV box etc? Very much hoping B&O will take that into consideration too designwise.

I am sure many like me would say flat and invisible.
However I have lived the Avants - both old and new !
What I meant is, that (imo) making thinner and thinner displays (just because you can) is not a main point for me.
Since I don't 'carry or move around' my 55" plus tv, it doesn't matter if it is 2 mm or 2 cm....
....as long as it isn't as bulky as the old BV7, I'll be happy ;-)
A 'flat' tv/display, that is 55" plus will never be 'invisible' anyway - no matter how flat it is!
Designwise B&O will have to come up with something harmonious.
The proportions of the display and the speaker(s) (and the space for the electronics) will have to match - no matter if built as a unity or as seperate parts.
A thin black frameless 'plate' on the wall with a loudspeaker, that reaches 7-8 cm from the wall, isn't harmonious.
The main reason that 99% of the current tv can be as flat as a pancake - and look good - is, that there are no (or almost) no speaker(s) built-in.
And most of them aren't that flat in real life, because of the part on the back with the connections etc.
Don't forget that the 'thickness' of the new Avant was used for the woofer on the back!
As I wrote above - the guys in Struer (in this case the designers) have made stunning solutions before.
I trust (well....and I hope) that they will come up with something extraordinary this time/2017 too.
P.S. 'a good looking tv' - I don't think that 'people' will ever agree on, what that is.
So the above is just my 1 and 1/2 cents.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
elephant:Which is where an outboard remote beo(video)system 5 box and a cupboard full of attached accessories would come into its own. Instead I suspect this rumoured sound bar will be the box and support only a few discrete accessories eg ATV Chromecast etc. BeoNut since '75
I strongly hope they just get the panel from LG and not the softwareplatform. We have a 55" inch OLED TV from LG and the picture beats every other TV (yes, including B&O) in terms of quality, natural saturation, black levels etc. In dark scenes you could even think that the TV is off because black is really black. :-)BUT: The operation is too slow. It's awfully when you want to enter menus to adjust s.th. or read the info menu about what's playing etc. I can not understand how companies give us such slow user interfaces in the year 2016! LG is not the only one, to be fair.I hope the Beovision wil be super responsive, too.

Yes. That's my main issue with the TVs of today. I wish that some day there will be a technology available that makes it possible to avoid the "big black hole" effect of a switched-off LED TV.

The Samsung Serif has "Like pulling a curtain over the screen, the user interface applies a filter over the content, giving an abstract impression of what is going on behind. When ‘curtain mode’ is active, viewers can access simple services such as a clock, Bluetooth speakers, apps and their photo gallery."

No, unfortunately it's not correct.
Torsten Valeur did contribute to the design in LG Signature, but not the TV's.
We did an interview with him right after the announcement at CES in Las vegas, where he told us about the design project. But he designed home appliances for the LG Signature (like a refrigerator and a washing machine).

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
KMA:Ah, okay. Then the FlatPanelsHD article mentions Torsten in the wrong context. That, and I thought the speaker grille in the E6 had a similarity to Avant's center channel's grille – the horisontal stripes Have you watched the interviews of Torsten on YouTube, where he talks about his design collaboration with LG?

Yes, and here's our own short interview: https://vimeo.com/150808167 (in danish) Torsten Valeur is one of the lead-designers for B&O and therefore he's limited to other products-categories when he occasionally do work for others. /Lars
I've just sold my Avant (got a fairly good price) and ordered the new Loewe OLED. I've had lots of Loewe's in the past and been very happy with them. As it's not out until September I've purchased an LG OLED as an interim, have to say compared to the Avant it's pretty impressive. I agree the interface isn't as good as teh B&O but hopefully the Loewe will address this, however the picture is on another level in comparison.
Interested to see what the next B&O TV's are capable of.
Hi All
Beovision Horizon
First picture and price (in Danish kroner) of the Beovision Horizon:

Like it! Here's hoping it had some cool mounting options.

Exciting!
Price is ok but I don't think it is as nice looking as BV14. Really liked the oak-front of the BV14. But the Horizon will probably look better in real life, as I don't think the picture here does it justice
Ooh, I like it!
Yes, The Horizon do look better in real life than on theese pictures (sorry for that)
And the Android TV, the new Bluetooth-version of Beoremote One and the rest actually looks quite nice too.
Horizon even has the wireless speakers - and surround.
Here a 40 inch mounted on an old style tv-stand.
I've updated the article (in danish) with more info and pictures: http://www.recordere.dk/2016/08/bos-naeste-folke-tv-beovision-horizon/
Looks very early 90s.
To me, the Horizon looks like one of those TVs they wheeled at at primary school in 1992, albeit flat screen version!
Regarding tv-stand on Beovision Horizon:
The wheel stand is only one in four options. Other options include swivel tv stands and swivel wall mound, and an easel type stand like BV11.
But apparently its was a consumer request - to get wheels back on the TVs again.
OMG Lars, I think that request to get the wheels o the TV stand were from the same old people that voted Brexit here in the UK. Oh my days, the return of the Mini Metro and Austin Princess and Maxi are to come...

Thanks for the picture! Looks beautiful.
Michael:Oh how happy I am too have my white V1-40 still. Even though it's not as modern it has great speakers and has always worked wonderfully. I'm extremely happy with it. As with my Avant 55. To be honest I thought these latest updates would be more interesting. And the current Avant has Bluetooth hardware, so I hope B&O will approve it for the remote and headphones as well. The chip certainly supports it!

It could be really nice with the bluetooth audio out function that is just great.

I really like it, just like the V1 (that I love) it's different but also very different to the V1. Is the speaker grille and the frame all aluminium? In that case, I guess it looks much better IRL than in these pictures. Well done B&O! Just like the V1, I guess this will be a design that some of us love and others hate, and I think it's a great idea to let the more expensive sets (like the BV14) be more elegant and give the cheaper tvs more attitude.
I actually like that a wheels stand is available, really useful in some situations.

KMA:As a 4K upgrade from BV11, this interests me more than BV14. ...but no. Now that BV14 and this are out, and Avant NG will be of the same design as the current Avant, I will wait and see what the B&O / LG OLED will be like. God willing, it will be a truly original new design. For me, switching brands has never been this close since the early 1990s. For me, TV (BV) is still a key component in my setup. And I'm an "all or nothing" kind of a guy. The day I switch from a BV to another brand, I'll re-think a whole new non-B&O setup. Some stand-alone Play products might remain. Today's releases give a lot to think about. KMA Current setup : BeoVision 11-46 with Apple TV, Sony BDP-S790, Mac Mini, BeoLab 11 , BeoPlay A8, pair of BeoPlay S3, Beo5, BeoRemote One . I noticed that it's made in Poland. TP vision have a factory in Poland.
So, we pay 10 times the price for a chinese branded Philips that is made in Poland and rebranded as aB&O TV?That's tough...
TP Vision is actually still an european company. Made out of the old Philips TV-department. Its owned by TPV, but is not a chinese company as such.
HQ, sales and deveplopment is in The Nederlands and manufacturing is in Poland.
Horizon comes with B&Os design, loudspeakers, surround sound, powerlink, remote, wireless speakers ect.
TP Vision contributes with the "motherboard" (video part, Android TV) and manufacturing.
But no Ambilight
Btw: All new models with Android TV comes the same computer+video electronics inside.

TWG: So, we pay 10 times the price for a chinese branded Philips that is made in Poland and rebranded as aB&O TV?That's tough...
TP Vision has nothing to do with Bang and Olufsen. Philips used to deliver CRT monitors to spec of B&O for avant series.
L1NO: TP Vision has nothing to do with Bang and Olufsen. Philips used to deliver CRT monitors to spec of B&O for avant series.
The rumor this summer was that TP Vision. the maker of Android TV under the Philips brand, is the supplier of the electronics (logic board, video and computer) for all the 3 new TV's (BV14, Horizon and Avant NG).
And that they make the Horizon for B&O. This TV is made in Poland, where TP Vision has their factory.
But don't worry. It doesn't say "Philips inside" and there is no Ambilight
B&O has put their fingerprint on it and supplied design, sound, surround, powerlink, remote control, wireless audio and more.
When you get a chance for hands on, you'll see that Horizon looks and feel like a Bang & Olufsen TV.
Is there a motorized stand option for the BV Horizon?
Brigantinus:Is there a motorized stand option for the BV Horizon?
Went down to my dealer today to look at the Horizon..
First impression.. much nicer in real life in pictures. it is a good looking tv, not fancy or totally B&O stylish, but nice. The picture from the DTV source was really really great though. Watched some olympics with fast scrolling water images, very smooth and sharp image, without to much artefacts and blur on the water.
Sound was not fantastic, but much better that standard flatscreen tv's.
One thing I noticed right away.. Stupid Google/Android smart tv.. Not very quick menus, and scrolling was not smooth at all. Only apps available from Google Play is there, so no Danish streaming services, only Netflix. So for the Nordic streaming, an Apple TV is still required !!
The 80's stand with four wheels.. also nicer in real life, and I really can understand why they made it. In some homes the small 40 inch will be perfect in a small room, and it is very easy to roll the tv around. The price is way to big at 3700DKK for 5 pieces of metal and 4 plastic wheels.
The 48" was on the wall bracket. Manual bracket, but with great possibility, and the finish and feel when moving the TV was great. Felt sturdy..
There was moments where I thought "did I press the button", and that was because of the smart tv platform, and overall SW speed. it could be much better. But it works, and I guess with the future SW updates over the next months, it might get better.
Overall the TV is better than expected, and I guess that if I just add my AppleTV and TV box, it would work for me, but is not going to happen because of the Android, and the fact that I can do the same with a new Samsung 55" for half the price.
The Horizon has full WISA and surround module, that is not something the Samsung can, but I don't use it anyway.
The Beovision 14 was not on display yet, but I noticed right away a 40" Beovision 11 with the wooden front ;) So they actually make the new front for the BV11 range also.
