It's possible to connect a pair of BL4000 to a Sonos Connect line output by using the right cabling and on the same hand you can then connect a TV either via the optical port or to the analog input. So in short, yes, what you're trying to do should work. In my previous setup I had a Sonos Connect which was connected via a media PC to a BeoPort to feed my MasterLink network using the Line Out. On the Line In I had a BeoGram 2000 which I then could enjoy via the Sonos and pushing the audio out to the MasterLink.

Hi kai,

Yes, this is certainly possible, it is worth noting that there are two versions of Beolab 4000 speakers, each of which needs different cables to connect to the Sonos.  If your speakers have a small RCA/phono Line socket fitted on the back, they are mk.1, if not they are mk.2.

Here are the cables you need to connect the Beolab 4000 speakers to a Sonos ZP80/90/100 or Sonos Connect:-

Earlier mk.1 speakers (up to 2007) with RCA Line inputs:-

Later mk.2 speakers (2008 on) without RCA Line inputs:-

Kind regards, Steve.

Hi,

If you don't already bought the Sonos Connect and have a Samsung TV, you should consider the Samsung Linkmate WAM270...

Tangentially related question:

Is it possible (I'll entertain "creative" solutions) to use the Essence Remote with Sonos Connect? (ie. volume, track, etc?). Perhaps with a Lintronic Device, or something else?

Thanks so much for your replies, I have not bought the Sonos yet but I also need to connect a passive stereo speaker I have looked at the marantaz 611 which can do both pre out and passive speaker so will prob go for that, Steve I already have those cables so thanks for that, for the essence remote I don't think that would work as its Bluetooth only Smile

For a client i've designed a blutooth receiver with a raspberry pi. Worked but delay was noticable. Almost all api's where usable.
