My recently acquired, birthday present for my wife, Beogram CDX suffered an unfortunate catastrophe the other day. The CD player it is replacing fell from the shelf above and shattered the glass control panel.
(Talk about cosmic karma...)
(photos below as incentive to read to the end ;-)
A few of the track touchpad "buttons" are now not responding, but the unit is otherwise still functional.
I am tracking down a replacement panel or donor unit, and am looking for advice and guidance on the actual removal and replacement of the glass panel. The Service Manual is silent on how the panel attaches (or at least I don't see it).
Is the panel held by double-sided adhesive, as in the 9000 / 9500, or are there screws, or both?
Where exactly are the fasteners?
Any tips or tricks?
If it's adhesive, I'm assuming that warming with a hairdryer will help in the removal, or is this a bad idea?
Thanks in advance!
