Apple: How are you (anyone) going to ignore the 800 pound gorilla?

I am not going to claim to be their biggest fanboy on Earth, but I have bought and used their products for a LOOOONG time.

Do I like them?: YES

Do I love them?: YES

Do they control my life?: NO

Whatever delineation existed between computing and audio is blurrier than ever and surely Apple deserves some place in this forum. Where or how much that is... I just don't know.

Peter:
On the Apple threads, I do feel that at times I might be on MacRumours!! We do have a section for Mac users but it is tricky as B&O are providing increasing amounts of products dedicated to Apple devices. I have no idea what the answer to this is!!Smile

Indeed.

There was a thread started in the past 24 hours or so about Apple - but the new Beoworlder placed it in the General Forum.

Perhaps moderators should make a judgement about applicability and move/or not move such threads to the Mac forum ?

Or as you suggest, accept that the world is changing around us . . . . . if only B&O could sell a set of speakers to everyone of the 400,000,000 people who have bought one form or other of an iDevice . . . . .  life would be sweeter for everyone . . . . . including B&O shareholders

The Wedthred© is what it is - it's a group of people who have become friends through Beoworld and the Wedthred©. They meet, surprisingly enough, at 7pm UK time each Wednesday to discuss anything and everything. The thread opens with a topic or question to get the ball rolling and it goes from there - there's no such thing as off topic, if something someone says rings a bell or reminds you of something else then post by all means. It's meant to be fun and lighthearted, no one to my knowledge has ever left the Wedthred© in a huff. The rules are simple - conversation can not include B&O, AV in general, computer geekery, Apple, cars or watches (if I've missed anything please remind me)! The point being that we discuss general stuff that isn't collected, has it's own forum or popular thread etc.

Just think of it as an evening down the pub with the lads, no one wants to discuss "work". There are a few in jokes that may baffle newcomers but I makes no apologies for the history that has built up over something like 5 years - if you see a reference to "buttered horses" and it makes no sense, don't feel shy to ask, someone will gladly fill you in. They may be a large amount of "ribbing", please don't take anything to heart, it's all among friends.

We've had friends that came and went and a small "hardcore" that have mainly been there since the off - current regulars include members from UK, Netherlands, Finland and USA. All are welcome, why not give it a go?!!Smile

Flappo got banned which was really nasty of BeoWorld as he was a good guy and did have the balls to speak the truth. He was definitely a leader and not a follower!

There's "having the balls to speak the truth" and being quite simply "offensive".  Two completely different things...

You should remember a man is judged by the company he keeps. As for your buddy flappo, he's probably still trying to figure out how to use a keyboard while wearing a jacket with sleeves that tie in the back.

Or as the lady in the Tarantino movie Grindhouse said, there's a difference between being frank, and being d1ck.

What about Step1 (Olly)?  Anyone know what happened to him?  He used to contribute on the old Beoworld forum.

Olly is doing well and enjoys his other passion. He found time to give my BM6000 quad a complete overhaul, new caps, lamps etc. and my god, he did an excellent job on that.

I wonder how many members there actually are overall compared with say 5 years ago.
