I got a dent in the wheel, and I tried to remove the wheel. Seems impossible to disasemble the unit :(
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Is there a new updated mode sheet showing which LED combination is active when IR and Bluetooth can be used simultanously?Does anybody know for sure since when the new versions are made?Is there a service manual available to dissamble them without destroying them?

In the B&O FAQ's they still only list the 7 modes.
Maybe these new 'combo-modes' will be described, when the new BROne/BT will be launched.
There might be some new possibilities then - maybe even with the new BV/BV's.
Just speculating - my dealer couldn't say much about this :-(

Hmm, and now I have some liquid marks behind the plastic mask of the wheel. Anyone figured out how to remove or clean it in the meantime?
Hi, Our essence remote has no visible liquid marks behind the plastic mask of the wheel but some functional problems due to a splash of red wine: Although we instantly dried the battery housing and the lower compartiment of our table remote (advice from beoworld for a submerged beocom6000) the "forward" button on the wheel doesn't work anymore. All the other functions work perfectly.
Anyone out there who tried to disassemble and clean the whole thing?
Thanks in advance
David
There is a little information here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/36696.aspx
This part seems particularly relevant:
leosgonewild:I remember someone had spilled some drink on the remote, causing some discoloration under the plastic plate with the logo. At least that can be easily removed with a spider to be cleaned. It is made of plastic, and glue holds it in place.

However, if the switch itself is damaged it is probably not possible to repair due to the assembly techniques: the remote was rally designed to be assembled once and never disassembled..
If you are in the US I'd be willing to take a look at it - I'm a self-employed Electrical Engineer with a full design lab, which means I alsohave equipment for rework/repair. Unfortunately I'd give the likelihood of being able to actually repair the switch at no more than 20%, but I absolutely love the Essence remotes (see my signature, LOL) and I would be willing to give it a try for you.

* Yes, really! 🤦♂️
I have an issue with my essence remote that when I turn the wheel nothing happens then all of a sudden the volume goes really loud. It does go up or down in volume gradually

Unfortunately I've noticed that a remote which hasn't been used in a while will drop the connection of the device it is controlling. This is undoubtedly done to improve the battery life, but results in the issue you mention. Of course the remotes I have controlling my two Beosound Moments don't have this issue, as they're set in IR mode and don't have an understanding/"memory" of the target volume.
If I try to change volume and don't get an immediate response, I've learned to wiggle the knob back and forth until I get control, then turn up to the target volume. If a couple of seconds of wiggling doesn't give me control, pressing the top button of the remote usually makes the connection happen.
The essence remote isn't perfect, but it is a beautiful and incredibly useful product. I have been debating designing and building a "next-generation" knock-off with an E-Paper or OLED display in the center, to add the Halo's track/station display to the otherwise perfect Essence Remote. As an electronic designer I know how to do this, but I suck at marketing and would struggle to sell enough to recoup my time investment. (Lyle Clarke, if you're reading this please put me in touch with whoever hires your external designers, and let's make this a B&O product. LOL.)

I have noticed that if I wiggle it first then its better. I have mine in IR mode as well so not sure why its still doing that. Its a bit annoying I have to say but it is very pretty so leave it on the coffee table. I mostly use a Beo 5 instead.

Re: waking the wheelie, someone here suggested always turning the control *down* with a couple/few click-at-a-time rather than wiggling it, to avoid a potential sync on the upswing and thus blasting the room.
trackbeo: If you haven't already, check out the Senic Nuimo
I had seen it before but didn't spend much time looking at it. I find it interesting that if won a reddot design award in 2016, just 2 years after B&O got a reddot award for the Essence Remote. The Nuimo looks like a knockoff of the Essence Remote, and I find it far less attractive, so it surprised me to see the knockoff award the same design award as the original just two years later.
As seen on the Senic website it is ‘sold out’.....whatever that means?
Probably they are more active selling rhe Senic Click nowadays.
Public Service Announcement: Now both Nuimo and Click are sold-out on Senic's own website, AND the Sonos website has them at a discount (albeit modest). I imagine this means, like the Essence wheelie, they are about to go away. (Notice that even @laseralex got a Halo instead of trying to hack up a display!) Good riddance to Bluetooth accessories vs. Wi-Fi, but I doubt that Senic is going to do a Halo clone... Anyway, last chance, for those of you who put a cheap Sonos system into "the vacation cottage" rather than populating it with expensive B&O equipment like the main mansion.
