Hi, just joined Beoworld & found it very useful.
We have just retired here to France & I would like to play some of my LP's from 50+ years ago. These have been in boxes & are now in the loft. Prior to living in our motorhome before house-hunting we needed to reduce our storage costs & all the stored hifi including my old Dual record deck went to the charity shop.
Our main sytem now is a Bose 48 Lifestyle (please no audiophile sarcasm), & what I'm thinking is it would be great to try & buy the best Beocenter system including a record-deck. My wife (SWMBO) hates audio clutter & I'm thinking maybe the Beocenter 7700 would fit the bill? Would this be compatible with the Bose, when I finally get it rigged up? Or would something else or a Begram be better?
Another factor is that we have shelf space in our living room BUT do not want sort the Bose yet because I still have some demolition and floorboarding to sort next!
Comments & advice would be very welcome,

The Beocenter range are a complete set of record player, tuner, amplifier and often tape player as well. The 7700 has all of these functions.
Is it just the record player function you are after? if you already have an existing set up then it might be better to just buy a Beogram (record player) instead.
Having said that, the 7700 is fantastic and one of the best Beocenter models B&O ever produced. Remember to factor in the fact that this is vintage equipment, will require a service and most likely repair. Also remember the cost of a cartridge which may need retipping.

I think at this stage (Bose not being intalled yet & a large stone shelf to be demolished) I prefer a system rather than just a deck because I think it would be easier to put it away. The one I've seen is on Ebay though I would prefer to buy from a dealer who has serviced it.
Will it work with any speakers I wonder?

The speaker connections are two pin din. Any speaker wire can easily be adapted to fit the two pin din socket. You will just need a couple of plugs which are readily available.
The 7700 is an excellent choice if you do decide to go down that route. I have a 7000 whilst not quite as good is still pretty special!
I emailed a dealer in UK who had offered a Beocenter 2000, enquiring about a 7000 series. The rely was a little odd, I thought, saying that the servicing of a 7000 series took too long so they could not offer them at a reasonable price, whereas the 2000's could be serviced & offered 'reasonably'!
I had gathered from Beoworld that the 2000's used Japanese components & did not offer the usual B&O quality.
I am not 'technical' & replacing & soldering components is not my 'cup of tea'. I wonder how necessary this is with an old B&O system or maybe I just need to find a local expert. That would be a concern since, here in France, I've dicovered that, if I want something doing I'd better do it myself!
I do have a Technics 'stack' in the barn & wonder, as an alternative about just trying to win an auction for a Beogram 6000 on eBay.fr.
