Hi everyone,
just looking for a quick bit of advice regarding my beomaster 5000.
So I think the amp is overheating due to too much power to the speakers. i have got the manual out for the amp and under power output it states 2x55w / 8 ohms.
I am running 1 set of rl60 - 8 ohms/ 60w - into one pair of speaker ports
And 1 set of c30 book shelf speakers - 6ohms 30 (60) watt into the other ports.
can anyone tell me if I'm over heating the amp or am I just being paranoid? The vents at the rear of the amp seem to heat up fairly hot after 15 minutes of use.
any help would be great thank you!
More likely to be an idle current problem in the amplifiers. The Beomaster 5000 was built to drive more than one pair of speakers (think Beolink) and in good condition itnormally runs no more than about handwarm on the cooling fins unless pushed at parties.
