I do not understand why so much people critisize the look of this product.
This is just an accessory, like an old beolink amp or a beolink wireless.Much more sexy than these beolink products.
Why do you need a beautiful case, when you already use the most beautiful Hifi products that cost really more.
We cannot compare a Playmaker with an airport express or an appletv.Every product from apple respects the same design, no risk at all.
The difference between the design of an accessory like Playmaker and the one for a main unit (old or recent) is huge.
and I would say FORTUNATELY !
I own a lot of old and recent b&o unit and this is the last feature I was waiting for, for just 380 euros !
I never bought something new from b&o because I can't afford it, always second hand.For the first time, I will go to the store and buy it with a smile.
It offers DLNA and Aiplay, wifi G or ethernet.It will do the job for most of the b&o collectors.
Sonos, Apple , even if they are great manufacturers , have much more features, they do not offer liberty and choice.
And the liberty is the most precious thing in this world.It costs always more if you want to keep it.

It's just mild criticism from B&O users. It doesn't mean people wont buy it or it doesn't serve a valid purpose - just a few people think it could have been designed a bit better.
As I've said many many times, people on this board struggle with criticism and mistake it for people leaving the brand. If you read through the many threads, you'll see there are plenty of users buying V1s, BV7-55s, speakers and so on. However, it doesn't mean things couldn't be better and that's what a forum is all about. I wouldn't expect to come on here and see "it's great! perfect!" within every discussion as the board would quickly cease to exist. Discussion forums always come across as more negative than speaking to someone in person, that's just the nature of the beast. People can't get their heads around that, sadly.
Playmaker is an excellent device that most of us, me included, have been waiting for. Whether I'll give up my Airport Express devices - which I've said in other threads serve a very valid purpose of extending my wifi network around the home - is another matter, as each have pros and cons. If you're seeking a device to connect directly to a pair of B&O speakers, it's perfect. It's like a cheap A8 without the speakers!

I agree with you.We are not living in a perfect world, that's sure !
I decided to post this because I think these negativ reactions are really not justified for this product.
If you are already using an airport, you have no good reason to give it up.
B&o desserves criticism actually but when they decide to act in the good direction, we'd better say it.
We'll understand in the future that this product is an historical step ahead for Bang olufsen.Like the possibility to install windows on a Mac.
