Hi , to everyone , I'm restoring a Beomaster 1000 have taken it apart successfully just having trouble getting control knobs back on and don't want to break them .
May seem like a silly question is there a technique to it rather than just forcing them .
Also does anyone know where I can get spare parts apart from eBay.
And lastly do I need a phono pre amp with this amp to allow my Beogram 1000 to work properly ?
Many thanks.
Which spare parts in particular are you after? Might be worth messaging Martin (Dillen) if you are after something specific.
Your last question, that depends whether you have a RIAA within the Beogram 1000.
Ben
Hi Ben , thanks for your reply. Concerning parts just looking for somewhere I can get bits in the future if needed . How come Martin ( Dillen ) has lots of parts ?
The Beogram 1000 I can't seem to get a crisp sound from have set up everything correctly , tracking weight etc but still not great ,the version I have is not the V serial number so shouldn't have pre amp onboard , but when plugged into turntable 2 input on Beomaster 1000 I get a louder sound then in turntable 1 input so was wondering if I needed a external pre amp to boost signal , as both signals muffled and very poor quality .
Concerning the control knobs still found nothing on Internet as to techniques to get them back on , they seem quite hard to push on don't want to break them.
Many Thanks
Chris
The Beomaster 1000 has 2 phono inputs, one of them has a preamp build into it, so no need for a preamp. so check your cartridge, and wiring, if that is OK go to the Beomaster and start checking there,
Tthe knobs on the BG is just press on, check the line up with the flat part of the shaft.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Hi Soren Mexico, thanks for you reply it must be phono input 2 on Beomaster that has the amp on it then as this was the louder of the two .
What areas on the Beomaster should I check if I have no issues with the Beogram.
Cheers for knob answer as well, will try that .
Turn in a FM station and check the sound and stereo reception, if possible attach another turntable and check sound, if stereo reception and sound is OK in right and left channel, I would start with the preamp and the connectors from the BG, but if you dont have any knowledge of electronics and repairs of the same, you should leave it to a repairman. My BM and BG has been restored to nearly original but only after severe restore works, all of these are of age and will need repair and TLC (tender loving care)
