Hi All
my first Question on here Guy's so please be gentle ;)
i have a acquired a set of Beolab 4000+8000 + a beovision 7 '32' mk3 + Overture
i am listening via the overture but would like to add to my 7.1 setup i am in the process of getting a new Amp
Onkyo TX-NR818 is there a 12v Trigger Req ? for powering up Speakers
any Help Much Appreciated
The 8000s (and 4000s, too) have a RCA line in. You need a variable line-out (from a pre-amp). I believe the speakers are line sensing so no trigger voltage is required.
Welcome, btw. Mostly friendly folks round here.

Does anyone know why they eliminated the LINE in socket on the BL4000 Mk II (ICE) version? There is still a switch position labelled LINE. e.g. here, 2nd photo.

I guess eliminating a pair of phono connectors that are often not used reduces the build cost. Instead they made phono to DIN cables available and the ability to select LINE on the switch if you are using these cables (to disable the need for a powerlink trigger signal and instead enable sensing of the audio in the same way the mk1 phono sockets work).
