...you ask your wife "let's go to the movies" and she replies it's better at home.

Happened yesterday (BV11-46).

But it could also indicate how bad the movie theater environment has become! I just went to the movies a week ago and was reminded how inconsiderate many people are!  I'm not trying to downplay B&O equipment in any way, but B&O quality equipment *and* your homes quiet environment certainly beats the movies (at the prices they charge!)

True Mark but where we go it's very quiet and a very high standard theater (at a cost !).

I do a "theater experience" at home (dark room, loud rich sound) and it seems to satisfy the audience.

For me it doesn't replace the real thing but for some it does the trick.

You no longer pine for any of the subsequent upgrades that have come out.

Here in the UK, I ADORE the new wave of independent film houses. I love the one in York overlooking the river with its contemporary bar and restaurant. It's a wonderful experience - we are going to see Absolutely Fabulous there in July. Whilst at the University of Manchester, we used to go to the most beautiful foreign film cinema on Oxford Road. It had an architecture book store along with bar etc - I think that it was called Bar Books Architecture and Film. :)

i like to get a blu-Ray and watch it on the B&O TV but I still like to go to the cinema. For me, even a regular Cinema creates a sense of occasion as the timing is fixed and run by somebody else!

its generally when a visiting friend or child minder reminds us how good the B&O product is, that's when you know..

... when you use a non B&O similar product.

After using common phones for years, the first time I used my Beocom 1600, I said WOW: the sound is so good (even in handsfree mode)!

The first time I listen back to my Samsung speaker, I said WOW: what the hell is that frequencies porridge?!?

I was just thinking this the other day. With my BeoLab 5s and projector, I enjoy watching movies much more at my house than going to the theater. Well done, B&O.

When you wave your hand in front of it and the magic doors open just as they did eighteen years ago when you bought it!

Yup. Occasionally find myself running my hands down the wooden front of my BL18s.
