I know that there was a product called playmaker but it is no longer being made...

What other options are there besides playmaker??

I would like to use the beoplay app somehow with my beolab 4000 because i love the way they sound

Only way to use the Beomusic app and bluetooth is (apart from choosing the BS Moment) to get a BS Essence (2nd gen).

A solution with a bluetooth receiver is possible, but then you are limited to bluetooth streaming from an external device.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

It doesn't have to be bluetooth only just want to make them wireless and stream music to the beolabs from my phone.

I thought that was bluetooth technology only. Isnt airport express bluetooth???

Get yourself a logitech Bluetooth adapter they are tiny, i brought one off amazon for around £30 i used it when i had my beolab17s.

I connected the beolab17s via the rca line input to the outputs on the back of the logitech adapter and paired the adapter with my phone. Once i switched on my Bluetooth on my phone voila sound came out of the beolabs my phone was the volume source for the speakers.

Was a very good investment.

You can use the following to make them "wireless":

-bluetooth adapter with line out

-airport express

-gramofon

-chromecast audio

Can the beoplay app be used only with the playmaker???

does it really matter if you don't use the beoplay app soundwise??

Why do you want to use the app?

Hi,

you have multiple choices:

1) Bluetooth

2) Airplay or Google Cast via Wifi

The Beoplay App will only work with B&O bluetooth speaker like the A1, A2 Beolit 15 so regardless what you do this will not work.

The playmaker you can still find used, but be aware it sometimes has wifi stability issues due to the old technology used.

It sort of got replaced with the essence which is a bit more expensive.

What device do you want to use to play you rmusic? Iphone?

Lg g4 smartphone android...

I guess i will have to buy a used playmaker.

So the beoplay app is bluetooth only???

It cannot be used with a beoplay a8 or a6???

If those products don't use bluetooth what do they use airplay only??

It gets confusing...

They list the products they support in the app. IT has to be supported by earphones or speaker via the built in software.

playmakrr is iffy for many, check out the essence and make sure your wifi is on 5Ghz.

If ou dont want to spend money, switching the labs to line mode and get an airplay airport express could work too.

Bluetooth sound qulity is usually not as great

Playmaker connected via cable to wireless router usually works OK

just search around a bit. I am just about to exchange mine for the essence to get multiroom. Am in the US though and wont sell it.

actually, since your using a android phone am not aure if airplay works. I know on some it does.

otherwise i think its called google cast which i believe only a6 supports so playmaker and essence might be out.

A9 and A6 are supported by BeoMusic app, I think.

Beoplay app is only for Beoplay Bluetooth units.
