Hi

I have a BM6500 in my study connected to a music system

In the sitting room I have a BV8 for video and a BLPassive connected to BL6000 for music, there are other link products in the kitchen and bedroom.

I have converted my garage into a Gym and have a Samsung TV in there with an Extra Speaker Kit and speakers connected to the BM6500 - I can play music sources fine but having problems getting TV - I can get the picture by pressing Link but no sound or control. I messed around with various options but wondered if anyone can advise what the options should be. At present BM is set to A.Opt 1, BV V .Op2 (to prevent it acting on audio commands) And the X-Tra speaker kit to L.Opt 6 - have I missed something as I seem to remember being able to control Video products through it in the past

I used to have an MCL setup as follows: (click on diagram to make larger!)

And as you can see, option 5 worked for me in the link room - I seem to remember have problems with one of the Video sources.

Also I think your BV should be V-Option 1, not 2 - I would try this change first.

Andrew:

At present BM is set to A.Opt 1, BV V .Op2 (to prevent it acting on audio commands)

Set your BV8 to V.OPT2 and your BM6500 to A.OPT2. If your BV8 and your BM6500 are masterlinked via a BL 1611 converter you can use (and control) all connected audio- and video sources from both rooms.

Andrew:

And the X-Tra speaker kit to L.Opt 6 - have I missed something as I seem to remember being able to control Video products through it in the past

X-tra speaker kit doesn`t detect L.OPT 5/6. You can set it to L.OPT 0, 1, 2, or 4. Set it to L.OPT2. Now you should be able to listen to (and control) your BV8 and connected video sources from your MCL link room via your BM6500. Getting BV8 picture into the link room doesn`t seem to be a problem...(?).

Andrew:

..., BV V .Op2 (to prevent it acting on audio commands)

If you don`t want the BV8 responding to audio commands, it must be set to V.OPT1 (V.OPT5, in case it`s a link TV)

Hope this helps

Stefan

Hi - thank you very much - yes, I tried the suggestions and it is now all working as it should - I also set the modulator on the BV to on and now I can watch and listen to everything in my Garage/Gum/Laundry room - really pleased as it only meant running cables from the Beomaster and BV through to the room. And to think I nearly sold the X-Tra speaker kit as I had no use for it!
