I really liked the original suggestion of the same smoked oak finish as on the A9 legs

Agree! Supercool.

It seems that the smoked oak is the only option with the black cabinet.

Match that with a black new Beovision 14(?) with frets in smoked oak finish....

Stick out tongue

Is that smoked oak in the picture? Looks like the regular oak.

So it does. Didn't spot that on my iphone. I expected it to be more grey coloured. As ever..... Can only judge in the flesh and I suspect it will look very nice indeed.

White frets on those would make me think of Storm Troopers.

With the growth of ethical companies and a demand for it from a new type of customer, it would be great if B&O donated a percentage from every sale to a woodland trust or financially invest in a woodland etc for the wood that it uses. Ethical marketing is becoming so important now and creating a new type of buyer. I know of a lot of younger people that ask 'who does it benefit if I buy this?'. I think with that, we are seeing a more educated look into consumerism.

Not really a fan of the black ones. I much prefer my silver ones or the rose gold ones.

Your aluminium and oak 18s look fab skywalker. I have the same. But I have a friend whose place has grey oak floors and I suspect these new babies will look amazing in her pad.

Thank you. I really like the way the aluminum reflects the surrounding colours. The Black sadly wouldn't do this.

All the lights in the room are hue lights so I change the colour depending on what I am currently doing, like watching a movie or playing video games:

I totally agree about the light reflections on the BL18s. I used to have BL6000s and they picked up their surroundings beautifully. A similar effect.

What is your end wall made of?

So, if by manufacturing their gear in China B&O could donate more to whatever righteous cause you prefer, how would you feel about Chinese manufacturing then?

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

About a foot thick concrete. All the walls are just a few have drywall over them presumably so people can paint and hang things.  I got the place for the walls alone as I can play music or movies on my system at any hours of the night and you can't hear a peep on the other side.

I saw these in the dealer this weekend; I helped him get them out of their box. They are BOOOOOTIFUL. I hope my wife likes them as they're the ones I'd like. The black aluminium is so sexy.

Has anyone taken any photos of this thing? I bet the low-resolution picture on B&O website doesn't do the black version justice...

Are they painted black or anodized? I believe painted B&O products are sometimes painted because of flaws in the aluminum. I believe I read this was the case when the C and CX speakers was introduced in white and black designs. I believe it is a good thing, not having to scrap big pipes of aluminum because of small flaws. Also a fun thing to think about when you watch the painted products.Smile
