It has been about a year now, that I started with B&O equipment - mainly because I was intrigued by buying into a brand, that stands for exclusive design, high quality standards and of course very good audio and video quality.
Well, after a year, I can tell, it was the one of the worst hifi desicions I ever made. And one of the most expensive ones, by the way, as it cost me well over 30.000€ at this point for the whole setup.
If anybody asked me, if I would recommend B&O, my honest opinion would be, that it is only visually appealing electronic trash. I think at this point the best thing for B&O would be, if a company like Sonos would buy the brand and product development would finally be left to professionals.
Since day 1 I only had problems with my setup. Here are some examples:
- the Beosound Moment stopped working after a month, it cannot connect to the hub anymore. Still waiting for the service technician to show up and resolve the issue
- after spending about a 1.000€ for setting up the multiroom feature, well, it stopped working after a few weeks as well
- the motorized stand of my Beovision 11 just stopped working as of today
- one of the Beolab 20s is making cracking noises. These noises scare our dog so much, that he leaves the room completely disturbed. Most of the times I have to deactivate the Beolab 20s when watching TV (I then use the center speaker only), otherwise I am in trouble with my wife, who takes position with the dog :)
- my incompetent dealer billed me about 35 hours (!!!) to install the Beovision 11 and the Beoplay v1...after threatening to sue that hillbilly I compromised to still pay 15 hrs.
- my Beoplay v1 won't connect to the internet anymore
These are only a few of my experienced I had with B&O in the past months.
So, seriously, is this what B&O has become? How can this company survive? By ripping of people that are willing to spend lots of cash for hifi equipment?

dasun:- my incompetent dealer...
For me, the main problem of B&O lies here...
If all new and only 12 months old you should still be covered by manufacturers guarantees.
Unfortunately, if you have an incompetent dealer, you may have problems claiming under guarantees, especially if he is trying to hide his own errors.
I would contact Struer and ask if they can arrange a system check by a different dealer and make decisions about replacing defective equipment under guarantee.

Thanks for your answers.
I contacted support and they offered to speak with the dealership. However, I do think that's only the minor part of the problem. The products just don't work the way they are supposed to work. Multiroom is a bad joke, when compared to e.g. Sonos. When I opted for B&O, I wanted the combination of good multiroom functionality with high sound quality. At this point, I prefer easy und functioning multiroom over high sound quality, because I cannot care about sound quality when it does not work...
That's why I have decided for myself to sell parts of my 'new' B&O equipment, namely the B&O 20s, 18s, Beosystem 4 and the Moment. I will keep the Beovision 11 and the Beoplay v1, because they look good, but other than that I will switch to Sonos. To have some proper sound quality in the living room, I will get Dynaudio Focus XD600 active speakers and link them to a Sonos connect.
So in the end, the hifi journey continues...
Rereading one of your old posts

certainly makes it clear, that you were heavily un- or even dis-advised from the involved dealer.
It is a pity, that noone (including myself) at that point had some suggestions.
I am pretty sure that several Beoworlders could have given some kind of advice.
Sad story - indeed.

So sorry to see you go from B&O, but I understand the reason: if the dog decides...
From personal experience really motivated and capable dealers for B&O are sparse now, where is their enthusiasm and passion for the brand. They take B & O in house for its exclusivity...

@Dasun
I am a bit curious,- You mention the BV11 and V1, ...and a Beosystem 4. What did you use the BS4 for ?
Did you run the BL20 wired or wireless ?
The BV11 stand, - try reseating the connector
The Beosystem 4 is in our living room, connected with a beamer. The BL 20 are running wireless through the transmitter. The BV11 and the v1 are in different rooms.
If you look at the problems more closely, it looks like there is a major network problem. Disturbing and failing communication between the products. Especially wireless connections. You can't blame B&O for that. (I can understand you do)Sonos won't solve the problem if that's the cause.
