Lifting this question from my other thread that I started on behalf of my mother. She bought the V1 and is very happy with it. I have slowly been considering buying one for myself. But there are some consideration that I am not totally happy with. I have my Beolab speakers that I would like to share with the Beosystem 7000 as well as the V1.
If the V1 had ML I would buy one straight away. I have seen here that some people buying the V1 even if it don´t have the ML and they have older B&O gears. Is there a way to get around the ML to integrate a V1 to a Beosystem 7000 with Beolab speakers in a simple user-friendly way?
To day I have the Beolab speakers connected to my AV9000 with Masterlink to my Beosystem 7000. If I would be able to connect the Beolab speakers to a V1 and get the sound from the Beosystem 7000 to the Beolab without getting a lot of button pushing. Which is one of the reasons many of us bought B&O gears from the beginning, there would not be so much to think about.
The dealer mentioned a way, but that meant that you must change the volume on the tv and stereo separately. I think they installed a cable via AUX to one of their customers. He was happy, but I´am not so sure about that solution. Changing the sound on the tv and the beolab speakers separately would be missing the point of B&O I think.
I´ve seen this thread which happens to be in danish, but the poster is a member here and there are many advices how to do different kind of setups depending on what equipment you have. It has good illustrates. So far I just seen this illustration regarding the V1:

Now I don't have the Beosound 9000, but the Beogram CD 7000 also has digital out. But it would not be the solution I´m after.
Might also wait and see what the Beovision 11 will be like. But I have to conclude that the V1 has grown on me since I first saw it in real life. It is a totally different thing to watch it in a B&O store than in a home environment.

I was told that the BV11 is unlikely to have ML as it's based on the V1 chassis. ML for TVs is regarded as less important going forward as users complain (rightly) that it doesn't distribute HD video very well and a lot of users now have 32"+ secondary TVs, meaning they receive a poor experience via ML.
That's what I was told. Maybe speculation, but I wouldn't get your hopes up that a forthcoming TV, based on a V1 chassis, will have ML.
Hi Hubbe, just out of interest what exactly do you use the BeoSystem for? I see that you're using BeoLab speakers, so I presume the amp in the BeoSystem is redundant.
If it were me, I'd retire the BeoSystem elsewhere with some passive speakers as a purely 'stereo' hi-fi setup and use the V1 as intended with your BeoLabs - in conjunction with an Apple TV and BluRay/PS3 all controlled nicely from the Beo4 :)

A little down on this page http://www.hifi4all.dk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=23818&PN=1&TPN=31 Peter Pan is showing af solution with the powerlink Switch from **. That seems to be the ideal situation as you can plug in both your Beosound and the V1 and let the share the speakers. One of the sources is allways connected, but when the box is detecting sound from the other source it will switch to that one.
Biggest problem i my eyes seems to be the pricetag!

Thats one less reason for waiting for the new BV11 then. I understand that ML might not be suitable for transferring video in higher quality as HD.

I really have no use for the Beosystem 7000 if I would have to relocate it to a different place. My flat is open space you see. If it would be planed like a more traditional apartement than I would have no problem to separate the units and let them have their own set of speakers connected.
I don´t use the Beosystem as often as I used to, but I think that it´s nice to play cd´s and vinyl´s and listen to the radio at times still when I feel like it.
But I have been considering your suggestion. But that would mean that I would put the Beosystem in storage until I have use for it.

Hubbe: That looks like the answer. I would just need one powerlink switch. But if I would want a surround setup in the future than I would have to buy another one. **
I don't think that would be needed, unless of course you wan't the rear speakers connected to the Beosystem 7000. In my opinion you just connect the rear speakers to the TV (thats what I have done in my setup) and the front speakers through the switch

No, your solution would probably be my choice too. The front speakers would be shared between the Beosound 7000 and the V1 and the rear speakers just for the V1 in surround mode. A couple of questions:
Are there any delay in the sound when switching between the TV and the stereo from the front speakers?
How about when you put on the surround mode watching a film?
Are there any delay between front and rear speakers?
I guess that when you turn the TV on there will be small delay before the switch turn over to this input and you can hear something from the speakers.
I don't have this switch myself. Instead i built a circiut with a relay that switches when there is a signal from the powerlink connecters on the TV. My front speakers (non B&O) are then switched on when sound is detected so there is a little delay before there I hear the sound. (hope this makes sense).
I don't see why there should be a delay between front and back speakers but it might be a good idea to consult Bosscom about this before buying just in case

That´s a very good suggestion. But you are sure that I just need one switch to connect the V1 and Beosystem and be able to use the surround mode if I wanted?
I am very certain that you only need one switch yes.
It should be the same as displayed in Peter Pans drawing from www.Hifi4all.dk

Thanks for all input in these questions.
By the end of the week I hopefully have my V1 delivered. I also ordered the Bosscom switch.
