Dear Gang,
It's been several years since I have contributed to a Beoworld discussion, but at one point, I was fixated on the website and B&O products. In fact, there was a time where I'd check the website faithfully a few times a day (that was the original Beoworld website). When the region of the USA in which I live was struck by a big hurricane, one of the first things I did when I was able to get some internet (at a Starbucks that had power) was to post on Beoworld to let my Beoworld friends know that I was OK. I've met several friends via Beoworld, some of whom I still keep in contact with despite now only perusing the website occasionally.
Around the time that the Beoworld site changed (can't remember when that was, maybe 8-9 years ago), life coincidently got busier for me with small kids, job, etc., and that's probably why I've been less involved. We still have a lot of B&O stuff, but I have many older B&O things that I either purchased off of eBay years ago with the intention of connecting to the digital world, and never used, or used very briefly. I want to give those things away rather than throw them away as they're iconic B&O stuff and some of y'all can either find a use for them, restore the things that need restoring, or use them for parts.
If any of y'all would like the following, or have recommendations for independent B&O repair shops (if those still exist in the USA) that I could donate these items to, please let me know.
I have the following that I'd like to give away:
-three pairs of BeoVox S45 loudspeakers - one pair has a non-original cover on them
-three BeoMaster 5000 Tuner / Amplifier units with Master Control Panel 5000 units
-one BV-8 32" with a broken LCD panel (not the glass on the front, but the Samsung LCD panel within)
-one BeoVision MX5500 which was purchased restored from Soundsmith about 13 years ago and used in my office briefly. Some friend at B&O found me the motorized stand for it, too.
The only stipulation is that whomever wanted this stuff would need to arrange to pick it up as I live in south Alabama.
