I have a pair of 17s and purchased some floors stands to mix things up. I currently have silver with white cloth and white end caps, but I am interested in the ice grills. I noticed they don't market the ice grills anymore. Does anyone know why? I was curious to hear some thoughts on the ice grills.
And as a side note, the 17s are awesome. I've owned 18s and I feel like the 17s offer much more value. Better bass, more compact and versatile.
The 'Ice Grilles' (officially called 'Broken Ice' - but referred to sometimes as 'Crackle Griles') seem to have been the 'default launch spec' as this is what most, or all of the dealers were sent as their first pair.
I think they look pretty cool and had them on my own at home for a long time until I sold my Aluminium BeoLab 17's and changed to a Black pair.
The BeoLab 17 is a speaker which really doesn't get the credit it deserves. They really are extremely good!
As for the grilles - they're getting quite rare now. I never push my 'wares' on this site, and I only post this link as you have asked specifically for these - and they're rare.. so :

I have owned 3s as well. The 3s are really great especially for their size and they always give me a nostalgic feeling as they were my first pair of B&O speakers. But in my opinion, they need the BL2 to complete their sound. The combo is really exceptional.
The 17s have much more bass on their own, even more than the 18s, and are less complicated with WISA. The highs are pretty crisp, but not as bright at the 18s. In terms of value, the 17s are exceptional. You get a nearly complete system at the bottom of the range and are very versatile.

Interesting. Perhaps they could replace my BL8000´s that I have as backs.
