Hi everyone, currently enjoying my Beolabs 9 along with Beovision 10 and a Beocenter 2. I was wondering what the Beolabs 20 have to offer vs the Beolabs 9? Is there a big difference between the two? Would it be an upgrade for me or not?

How about the power they have?

Beolab 9 is: high 100 watt, middle 100 watt and low 500 watt.

Beolab 20 is: high 160 watt, middle 160 watt and low 2x 160 watt.

In the low section there is a difference of 180 watt!!!! Is the bass still as good?

Please educate me in this one. Thanks.

The BL20s are fantastic and to my taste even better than the BL9s. Tight and punchy and yes..... More than enough bass. I'm not sure how the numbers you quoted translate into real world listening but for me the 20s bass is even stronger than the 9s.

I have a pair of Beolab 9s also. I have a pair of 20s ordered that are scheduled to ship to me next week. From what I have read, and been told, and heard at the dealer, I believe the bass in the 20s to be better than the 9s as well as the overall sound of the 20s being better. But I think I have also read one or two comments from people who like the overall tone of the 9s better. I believe there is a technical reason why the two smaller bass amps are superior to the one larger in the 9s but I can not explain it. Hopefully some time next week I will have a much better opinion after my 20s arrive.

There are some comments in this thread comparing the 9s and 20s you might find interesting.
