Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums so I hope I'm posting in the right place.

I have a Beoplay A9 and recently bought a Yamaha RX-V779 AV receiver. I'd like to connect my speaker to my AV receiver and since it is an active type, I have connected it through the preouts on the AVR using RCA cables. No luck for the first try.

Then I downloaded an application for my android phone to be able to control my speaker - which only has two buttons and two LEDs and no, I don't really know what those buttons actually do and what those LEDs actually tell.

After a few tries, I was able to find its WIFI direct and connected my phone to beoplay and managed to change the mode to line in and suddenly everything got OK. Unfortunately after a restart the speaker does not play sound and I have to go through all the hassle and connect my phone to the speaker and change the mode again. So here are my questions:

1. Is there a user manual telling me what those buttons do and LEDs tell? so maybe I can change the mode of the speaker to line in without the need of my phone? (all I found was a 1 page graphical initial setup manual which is very bad)

2. I tried to use the beoplay app on my iphone but no luck. I can easily play music via airplay but no luck in controlling the speaker via the app.

3. Do I need a trigger or something to make things work when I turn on my AV Receiver? I want my beoplay to start playing sound when my AV receiver is on and streaming video and sound.

Here you can find links to the BeoPlay A9 FAQ (1st and 2nd generation), which has answers to at least some of your questions:

1. Indicator lights legend for 1st generation and 2nd generation A9.

2. The Beoplay app is not supported with the A9.

3. Maybe someone else can shed light on this one.

Thanks for the website.

Why on earth it does not understand the source and change the mode automatically?
