Hello there,

i've just had the great news that the 5500 takes standard batteries!! I have only just recently purchased it, and i'm so very eager to get it going.

Now i have the challenge of opening the slot where the batteries go!

What should be the simplest thing ever, is proving to be rather challenging.

Would anyone be so kind to help me out?

The cover just slides to one side and the four batteries slip inside one at a time into the slot.

Which part are you having trouble with?

It "just" slides to one side and lifts off, but I know it can be hard: one of my two MCPs has so stiff battery cover that I always need a tool to get enough grip to move it!

Other possibility is that there are leaked batteries beneath the cover that have made it stuck, hopefully not!
