Even if this app works with the speed of a Sonos controller and it is something you want, then isn’t the BS5 a bit overpriced?
And does the MOTS still work if you use this app?

bsantini:I think the Creation app is just an auxiliary software/DLNA controller. I believe you need to have both a BS5 and a BM5 for it to work. B

I had the same problem. Restarting the server helped.
I have tried Creation 5 and I'm not convinced that it's worth its price compared to other controllers like PlugPlayer and eLyrics.
However, with all of these I have one problem that has made them useless to me.
I have converted my CDs (almost entirely classical music) to FLAC format and when played from the BS5/BM5 I get the exact same result as when played from the original CD. I.e. no gaps.
When played from Creation 5 (or PP/eLyrics) all tracks on the CD/album are interpreted as one separate "album" each separated by a pause and getting the cover art one more time. Moreover all tracks are in complete random order.
What causes this change of output from the BS5/BM5 to Creation 5 and how do I ensure that my albums are played correctly on both platforms?

Well, I have now looked around to find a solution and the simple answer is that PlugPlayer and the likes are not able to play gapless.
No. When using the app, none of the features of the BS5 are available, the app takes over as a controller. The app needs to be running all the time too because it keeps an eye on the song that is being played and if it's done, it will skip to the next song. I have a feeling the app is responsible to do that and not the BS5/BM5.
to all members where the software works:How is your Beosound 5 / Beomaster 5 configured?- Client name?- Password?- ...My Beosound 5 is configured to - Musicserver on- Clientname: custom- Password protectedand on the same network as the iPad with Creation 5 software but it does not work. I have the same problem ... the app is not working(currently finding your beosound 5 ...).My network is a bit more complex than a standard Ip network, but i do not see where the problem can be.I guess the app is broadcasting something on the network and can not receive an answer from the BS5I wrote them an email to ask some help.

I ran the app for a couple days then turned it off for a day.
Then back on again.
No problems at all for me. It worked the first time I turned it on.
There is a 'help' section on the app and I found it helpful.
It worked after restarting the server, but after shutdown I'm now back to "Finding BS5"
And it cost me 50d.

You don't have to give up anything.Beosound 5 in option 0, and you will have to press 2 times to activate radio. otherwise everything will work.
We recently became aware that there was a forum topic about the Creation 5 app.
I want to try and deal with the main issues that have come up in the direct feedback to us, and also through this forum:
1.The top request has been to add the Net Radio feature – we are working as hard as we can to provide a solution for this and hope to provide this in a future release, however we do not have a date for this feature as of right now
2. Track listing in the original order – this will be provided in the next release within the next 3-4 weeks
3. Connection problems – this has been something we have only seen occur in some set-ups and we are trying to understand the cause of this – it may be the Network traffic at connection time, as in most cases this is resolved by closing the app fully and re-starting – if there are continued experiences of this can those users please contact us and we will do everything we can to help
4. Background image resolution – we can only display the cover art in the resolution it is first stored when it is tagged – the suggestion in the forum by ‘bsantini’ to use the Bliss, or similar tagging system will help – if the resolution is improved for the cover art it will look better in the background
5. The ability to go to any letter to search, has been resolved with the next release
6. We are working on how we handle the disc cover-art in the app – loading too many covers has resulted in very slow movement of the window, and the memory issue can become a problem, particularly with older iPad models – we will continue to improve this feature with updated releases
7. We are unable to provide a ‘Shut Down/Power Off’ button in our app as unfortunately this feature is not supported in the DLNA platform
8. A small number of users have had a problem with album art disappearing - we suspect this is something that can be resolved in the BeoSound 5 – we have experienced the loss of cover art where the BeoSound 5 fails to send the information – if you go to the service settings and rebuild the music server the app will get the information again.
Thank you again for your feedback, we are genuinely grateful for you taking the time to help us understand and fix issues, and also help us identify the features you would like to see added to future versions. We are currently updating our web site with some additional information to outline the product features, as we bring the full Creation product range to the market. The On-screen Menu is one of the key products in the Creation range and links with the ML Gateway and BeoSystem3 to provide control of the B&O and 3rd party hardware. e.g. Lutron, Kaleidescape etc. The software provides a similar design to the Creation 5 app and retains the same focus on simplicity of operation - it can be operated using the Beo4, iPad app, our Creation Joystick controller, or the soon to be released iPhone application. @creation: How did you test the Beosound 5 software? Only with a default Beosound 5 configuration? I can't get the software to work. It only displays "currently finding Beosound 5" and nothing more!As written above I have renamed my Beomaster to a custom name and I have password protected the unit. Musicserver is set to ON but nothing happens!Beosound 5 is set as slave while a Beosound 3000 is the master.
The BM5 must be master in the ML network...It can not be a slave. (this is for all DLNA apps, if you want to use the BM5 as renderer)I hope B&O changes this in the future
other dlna apps can use the BM5 as a media server but not as renderer when the BM is setup as slave.I use this setup and stream the audio to an airport express. (which is connected to the aux input of a BS9000)

When i use another app like Twonky, I use the ipad as player and not the beosound5, than i push the ipads output to the airport express, so the music goes always via the ipad,When I close the ipad, music keeps playing, but when i turn it completely off, music stops. (this is normal)The Creation app uses the beosound5 as player but then the beosound must be audiomaster in the ML network...When doing this you do not need the ipad running, so no battery drain, and when you are moving in the house, you will never have a drop out when the ipad is out of range from the wifi network, the ipad is just a controller
I do not understand why the beomaster5 needs to be audiomaster in the ML network to enable DNLA as server and player.Hope B&O changes this sometimes ... The new Creation version looks already a lot better.Now it finds the BM5 server without it needs to be audiomaster in the ML network, but you can still not use the ipad as player I wonder if the playmaker is recognized as player by the app ? What do they exactly mean by "support for playmaker" ?

This is not my experience. When Creation5 is playing in the background the music stops/pauses before the next track. Then, if I try to open the app. again, it crashes.
Just for clarification - the app cannot continue to send the information to the BeoSound 5 if the app is closed - this is as a result of the way Apple handles the applications - once the app is closed is looses connection to the BeoSound 5 and when it does it cannot send it the commands to play the next track so the system will only play the current track it is playing and then will stop. I'm afraid at this point in time we cannot resolve this so to ensure the music continues to play it is required that the application is left open on the iPad.
We hope everyone has an improved experience with the new update - we Thank You for all of the feedback we received - and we are continuing to work on improvements to the application for future versions.

Would you consider adding the option to turn off the cover art slide show? It can be somewhat distracting.
@creation:Do you consider releasing your application for Android? As the number of Android-Tablets is raising it would be great to use the application on Android, too!
We are looking at the layout of the background slideshow and have a few ideas for this - we will have this adapted for a future release - we will look at an option to turn off this feature - thank you for the feedback.
Our priority was to develop apps for the iOS platform, however we are currently discussing Android platform - in fact as I type there is a discussion taking place between 2 of our developers on this very topic - I don't have any timeframe for this right now but it is something we are looking into.

Thanks a lot for the latest update. It works much better now and one important new feature for me is the ability to have Creation5 play in the background. This makes it much more useful.
I have a problem with the cover art. Creation 5 only shows part of the cover and cuts it off around the edges. As if zooming in on the cover. This happens to both my own covers (512X512 dpi) and the default B&O cover.
Also the extended content list is very useful. However, not all items in the list are relevant for all users and I was wondering if it might be possible to select which items to be displayed? For instance a clickable list like "Background Mode" (Nice feature, by the way)
Tre app is great, but it will not play my WAV songs, and many of the songs in BM 5 doesn't show up in the app. Why?
