Hi everyone,

I thought it may be helpful to add a quick post here, as I received a few enquiries overnight from customers who were worried about buying from British companies in the light of the recent "Brexit" vote where Britain has voted to leave the European Union.

Whilst I'm not a political expert (and I won't get into discussing politics here!) I just wanted to reassure Beoworlders that it is definitely "business as usual" as there are no changes to taxes or shipping if overseas customers wish to buy B&O products or accessories from UK companies.

I would also like to say a big "Thank you" to all my friends across Europe and further afield who have supported Sounds Heavenly since 2004. Being free to trade within Europe has allowed me to turn my hobby into a successful business, providing employment and meaning that I can work from home to see my children as they grow up. Long may this continue!

I am always happy to help (either via Beoworld or on my website) if anyone has any questions over connecting their B&O products.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

So Micheal doesn't live in the EU, but trades with a company in the EU(currently)no problems at all.

Says it all about these ridiculous scare stories. Should I have bought a Rolex, Switzerland isn't in the EU!!!! OMG I'm doomed

Weeks ago I started a thread on this very topic (Brexit) mentioning that we were always able to buy B&O products in the UK long before the EU came into being.

We also bought B&O, despite having a high purchase tax, because the products were of such high quality.

A moderator  deleted the thread.

Graham,

The thread you refer to was set afloat by you to the sole effect of starting a political discussion.
You even called it a controversial thread yourself in the first line.
A couple of other posters already questioned your post in the thread before a moderator came to the scene.
Your post had no B&O (or any other brand electronics for that matter) related content at all, so it was deleted.

I PM'ed you and told you why the thread was deleted.
I also told you, that it was not the first time, I had to delete a controversial or provocative thread of yours.

Beoworld is not for discussing politics or animals in the Zoo. Period.

No the sky isn't falling!

But you shouldn't expect 'business as usual', either - at least I don't.

Well as the UK imports 10 times what we export from the EU, let's hope folk have their moderate hat on, add opposed to the revenge one!

I had no intention of starting a political discussion Martin. The thread was about the availabilty of B&O in the UK pre EU and what might happen post Brexit. It does prove, however, how easily we can make wrong assumptions about another poster's intentions. Do we now assume that you are, for example, associating politicians with animals in a zoo? (I know what you are referring to, but many will interpret your post differently!)

Sometimes I think that this forum will die without some controversy and boundary pushing.

Please lets keep discussion relevant to the purpose of the Beoworld. That way it can be a haven from what is going on unless it affects the B&O world for us all !

Hi Simonbeo

I'm sorry if this has become political as that wasn't my intention; I merely wanted to reassure Beoworlders that politics won't prevent us from helping to get their B&O systems connected and working!

Kind regards, Steve.

No need to apologise Steve. I'm just hoping it doesn't affect you and other B&O related businesses and their customers and I understand why you wrote on this subject in the first place.

Simon.

Business as usual: Nearly, because I just ordered something for my headphones from a hard grafting company at a better exchange rate £ to €. My political 2 pennies: it is a good sign that a few million people in GB are interested in a revision.

No animals in the zoo? But what about Harambe? Did he prefer Play or traditional B&O? Did he care if it was made in China? Crying

A lot of Hard Graft leather products are made in Italy. £/€ exchange rate effect will be short-lived.

Well, I guess B&O are not really happy about the outcome... it's yet another blow.

The UK is a big market for B&O and overnight the pound lost 20% or so, which either reduces margins my 20% or will force B&O to raise their UK price by that much.

Once the UK has left the single market, you'll have to add import tax to that...

If you ignore the immediate pre brexit rise, the exchange moved from 9.5Kr to £1  on Monday  to  9.1 Friday, or 4.2% fall. That's not to say that there wont be another move tomorrow.

One thing is for sure - it won't be easy for B&O to operate in a market, where the only certain thing is uncertainty.

And that is what happens when you allow highly uneducated, closed minded fools the luxury of a vote. It's comical that people would actually side with the leader of UKIP a true facist party. So these English decide to vote on something that every expert warns against, that even the politicians do not have an answer for. It's the equivilent of the UK saying 'Hey peasants, let's test a nuclear bomb on ourselves and see if it's really as bad as they say or maybe it'll bring new hope'.

Seriously, after Friday, i've realised that the UK public can be mislead to do absolutely anything. I think we need to start by making a proper education compulsory until the age of 18 because i've seen very little intelligence one the last few days.

What a mess, what a true embarrassment to the World the UK is. It has come across a racist, close minded and it's now in pre-WW2 days! I feel for the children who will not get the chance to go on European foreign exchange programmes, were 75% of funding which incidentally comes from the EU will be gone. I feel for everyone that has enjoyed being a true European in a connected world.

I know it's bad, when two of my friends who are politics lecturers are leaving the country next month!

As they say in the media "Feed them dog food for long enough and they'll learn to put barbecue sauce on it."

Paul W, I'm not going to add / respond to your political rant but we in the UK were able to go on European foreign exchange visits long before the EU came into existence.
