I play music using AirPlay to an ATV4 connected via an HDMI -> TOS -> analog output-adapter to my Beolab-speakers. Now the problem is that I can't play sound at a low level with this setup. Changing volume in iTunes works but even if I set the volume really low the output volume is still medium high (for example, it is too high to talk on the phone or not disturbing neighbours if listening late in the evenings). It seems the ATV does not respect the low volume signal from iTunes. What can I do about this?

The advice is just like the one, you received in your other thread:

you'll need some kind of preamp, that can handle the volume control of the digital signal.

In this particular case however (since you only speak of airplaying), you could consider using a B&O Playmaker instead.

You can control the volume on the Playmaker itself or with a Beo remote.

P.S. You can still buy the Playmaker second life.
