I have a Samsung Smart TV with the following Audio Output options: HDMI ARC, Optical, Bluetooth. There are no analogue audio out ports. I wish to feed audio from the TV to my BeoMaster 5 which is physically adjacent to it. I don’t want to feed directly to the speakers or BeoSound 5 to avoid visible cables.
Additional information: The TV is fed from a Virgin TiVo box via an HDMI cable. The TiVo box, the BeoMaster 5 and the Smart TV are all on my home network. Is there a way of feeding the audio over the network?
The only other option I have been able to find so far is to use a Behringer UCA222 to plug into the USB Aux In port on the BeoMaster 5 but the UCA222 only takes analogue audio inputs. Converting a digital signal from the TV to analogue and back to digital for the BeoMaster 5 seems messy, expensive and could produce latency issues.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi,
I'am searching the solution for the same problem: how to connect the audio from an LG TV to the bombaster 5,
If there is any solution other then the Behringer (delay in sound) it would be very nice.
Thanks
Sorry, bombaster must be beomaster
Look for line connector on www.heavenlysound.com
sorry http://soundsheavenly.com/
http://soundsheavenly.com/input/17--ufo202-.html; it works well
will not work
Please note that Bang & Olufsen do not recommend using this adapter to connect a video source (eg. non-B&O TV) to BeoMaster 5
I have an Almondo Masterplay for sale, plugs in a master link network , this will play music through your masterlink
If you connect a TV to Beomaster 5 via the USB adapter, there will be a delay to the audio from the TV, so that it will not match the picture (this delay occurs within the Beomaster 5 and it is a known issue with B&O). The only solution to this is to buy a Beolink Converter from Bang & Olufsen (type 1161166) and connect this to the Beomaster 5 with a Masterlink cable: http://soundsheavenly.com/48-masterlink-control-and-sync
You can use the 3.5mm audio out/headphone output (the most common option fitted to new TVs) into the Aux socket of the B&O converter with this cable:-

You can then listen to the TV through the Beomaster 5 without an audio delay by pressing “TV” on your B&O remote control.
Kind regards, Steve.

So the BL convertor has a female Masterlink connection, and it takes a male-male ML cable to connect it to the BM5?
How can the BM5 be switched to this aux audio input?
Yes that is correct. Simply press any video source button (eg. DTV) on the Beo4 remote to activate the converter and play the TV audio.
Hello Steve.
I have no analog output on my Samsung tv. How is the best way to connect it to my Beosound 5?
Best regards
Søren.
Hi Soren,
In this case, you will need an optical to audio converter, plus the Beolink Converter mentioned in the thread above. Please ask if you need any help with cables to connect these.
