hello everybody,

It seems that B&O is changing connection standard from DIN (Powerlink) to RJ45. I am a little puzzled about cabling. Can I use CAT5 cables for a connection (for example Playmaker to BL12) or do I have to use CAT7 and can I use ordinary CAT7 cables available from Computer stores or do they have to carry a B&O label???

Cat5 -not really, its not shielded.

Of course the Beonet guide says use B&O cables or Scheinder.  IMO I do not think it makes a differance as long as its really CAT7.  By the way, you might be better off with CAT7a as faster data transfer rate should you need that function.

I am using Cat5e, Cat6 and also CAT7 lines in my Masterlink setup without problems. I believe CAT7 is just needed for Video and not so important for Audio.
