Hi Beoworld,

I am visiting an old customer who is about to install a Beovision 12-65 with a BSy3 to an amplifier.

What is required is: Have the BSy3 front left and right speakers connected to a non B&o amplifier via the power link sockets.

If a stand are 5 pin din is used the BSy3 menu will not know any thing is connected. I believe a resister can be placed so the Beosystem 3 thinks it has a pair of B&o active speakers connected to it.

The main problem is, if the Beosystem does not know if speakers are not connected, the menu for them is removed. Smart.

You help would be most appreciated.

Regards from South Australia.

maybe Steve from this forum can built you the desired cables?! He knows enough and he makes good cables. :-)

The most important thing is that we should know HOW the Beosystem 3 checks if there's a speaker connected.

Audio left/right is pin 3/5, ground is pin 2, for BL detection on Powerlink just solder a bridge pin 4-2.

For more info search "powerlink dummy" here in the forum.

Powerlink signal is a volume controled pre amp level signal, not a fixed line level signal, so a poweramp or active speakers are needed.

You can also use pin 4 (5V) to activate amps/speakers.

Hope this helps

Stefan
