While watching a movie with the kids this afternoon the screen went black and the sound get going. Did the usual switch it off at the wall and turn it back on again trick, still the same. If you go to DVD, same thing sound but no vision.
The red time, ID lights etc all work on the screen so I don't think it's power and we've checked all the leads.
Is this an expensive black out? Any best guesses for what has died and how much it'll cost to put it right?
Any clever things we can try? We have to wait til Friday for someone to come out to take it away... just seems such a shame not to be able to watch the TV....
Thank you
I have absolutely no knowledge of the BV7 but ................ have you made sure all cables are snuggly connected?
Sorry if this sounds daft but much stranger things have happened!
Ban boring signatures!
Yes, I was hoping it was going to be a loose connection... but sadly not.
Beverley, be careful, be very very careful if you are allowing someone to come in and then to quote you for the repair without the repair being qualified by others. Appreciate you want a tv but may be better to invest in another screen, am quite sure any of the three main professional resellers would loan you a set, whereabouts are you based - am quite familiar with your name, hmmmmmm
I think it's the local B&O guys coming out (Guildford), husband phoned them. We bought this through is it AV B&O - a nearly new one. Would a new screen be cheaper than a repair? I think this has already had a repair for something similar - something like a new back or processor or something - I think we lost sound and vision that time. Ugh. Same guys coming out to repair I think, they had the last part on the system.
Guess I should have used a made up name! Why do forums encourage you to do that?
