What is a BTB module for the BV-8?

Hotel / conferences?

I always thought it was just the remote with special keys but maybe there was an interface to a backend for billing the VOD.

The BTB module is an extra unit installed inside the TV which (among other things) sends out an infrared signal continuously via the STB socket on the rear of the TV which is to prevent theft of the unit when installed in hotel rooms. As a result, using the set with a STB is not possible without modification to the TV to restore it to normal use.
