Hi forum

I expect to receive a used pair of Beolab 5's next week (finally!) for inspection and testing before buying them.

I do not own any B&O Beosound's, so I'll have to connect to non-B&O equipment. That's fine if it wasn't that I am not sure about the cable lengths of the S/pdifs and sync-cables, so I would prefer not to buy these cables yet. I guess there is no point testing them without the sync cable as the volumen then won't be in sync or?

Any ideas on how and what to do?

Why ?

The sync cable only helps to synchronize the sound level.

If your remote's beam reach both BL5s at the same time, you don't need this cable (but it's comfortable to have it...)

Hi CB

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you are quite right. I actually afterwards found out that it is possible to make your own B&O sync cabel: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/16160.aspx

The only thing I'm missing now is Beo4 remote. Does anyone have advice on which version of the Beo4 is best for Beolab 5's, or doesn't it matter?

Doesn`t matter. Beo4, 5, 6 BL1000 and even BL5000/7000 in one-way mode should work.

Forgot Beoremote one in Beo4 mode....

Hi Stefan

Thanks for your reply. Sounds great that the Beolink 1000 works, I might actually have one of these lying around.

The thought struck me, whether anyone has any experience with using a Logitech Harmony (Ultimate) together with a pair of Beolab 5's?

Best,

Beo5fan
