Hi,
rviola: a) Can I connect a BeoSound 5 BM5 (as main equipment), which option ? with a BV5 (in a living room) speakers 5.1, b) and then can I also connect a BeoSound 3200 in another room (study) via master link (alone with speaker 2.1 directly connected to BS3200) which optiom?
Yes, but note that you won't be able to listen to the CD, RADIO, and A.MEM sources provided by the BS3200 in the other rooms.
Room 1: BV5 set to Option 2, BM5/BS5 set to Option 0, AudioMaster=yes
Room 2: BS3200 set to Option 6.
(and Room 3: BeoSystem 3 set to Option 6)
You could also try (with the same products in each room):
Room 1: BV5 set to Option 2, BM5/BS5 set to Option 0, AudioMaster = no
Room 2: BS3200 set to Option 2
(and Room 3: BeoSystem 3 set to Option 6).
This should allow you to listen to the CD, RADIO and A.MEM sources in all rooms but I don't know which room the music will start playing in when you walk up to the BS5 and press GO.
rviola:c) or a BeoSound 3200 in another room via master link (with a BeoSystem 3 speaker connected 5.1)
No, you can't have a video product and an audio product sharing one set of speakers within a link room. You could have both in the same room if the BS3200 had it's own pair of speakers though (in addition to the speakers connected to the BeoSystem 3) - in which case both BS3200 and BeoSystem 3 would need to be set to Option 5.
Hope this helps,
Martin.
Martin: EXCELLENT THANKS, its the first time I have an answer "excellent one".
I told you perhaps you can help me more. and its interested to know from B&O users.
We have via Master Link all the apparment
Living: BV5 (5.1) Option 2 frontal BL 8000 sw BL2 back BL 6000 & BS 3200 Option 0 (via aux a BS Essence 1st Generation)
Kitche: BL2000 Option 6
Study: BeoLink PC2/BeoPort Box ( 2.1) BL 4000 sw BL11 PC (XP) (old) with BeoPlayer Option 6 BeoConnect Soft and BS2. We will set a Mac Mini (El Capitan) instead of PC (XP) sure and perhaps secondary a Notebook Dell Inspiron (Win 7)
Play Room: BSy3 (5.1) Option 6 BL 3 sw BL11 back BL 4 & BS5BM5 Option [Audio Master: No=off]
Suite: Active Link Box Option 6 Eye Link (2.1) BL 4 sw BL 2.
All Rooms we can hear . a) Radio,CD,A Men or CD Men from BS 3200. b) N.Radio N.Music from BS5BM5 [Audio Master: NO] so we can not listen Spotify, CD BS5, and no AUX (to connect example Airport Express) we think.
Study we can hear only a) Radio,CD,A Men or CD Men from BS 3200 c) N.Radio N.Music from BeoLink PC2/BeoPort Box Beoplayer Soft (we think its old nowdays) besides PC (XP)
Living we can hear besides the same of All Rooms, the BSE 1st Generation) BeoMusic App, Spotify, Airplay, DLNA, TuneIn Radio, Aux.
DOUBTS
If it is possible How we can get the best B&O set up.?
Because we think Study: PC (XP) BS2 and Beolink PC2/BeoPort Box (no works with news product like Mac Mini (El Capitan).
What we can do?
1st) We like go on listening All rooms possible Radio,CD, AMEN/CDMen from BS3200 and NRadio NMusic from BS5.
2nd) We like activate from BS5: Spotify, CD (if it is possible), and Aux to Connect AirPort Express, with Airplay. [Audio Master On=yes]
3rd) Study (Perhaps nowdays its old BeoPlayer Soft we lost BeoConnect Soft unless we use Dell Inspiron (Win 7) to connect with BS5BM5, we think its old BeoSound 2 (we could have iPod).
PERHAPS Ideas we think (but if you have something better we are interested)
Cost/Set Up
A) You know if it is the possibility to connect both BS 3200 and listening All Room Radio,CD, CDMEM/AMEM or Connect BS5BM5 [Audio Master: Yes=on].
B) Playroom: If we connect a "Y" Powerlink from front speaker and sw besides BSy3, example connect BL3 and BL11 now also directly to BS5BM5 we can do 1st) 2nd) . Set BS5BM5 Audio Master Option 5 and BSy3 Option 5. Besides to avoid change place equipment (we dont know but we think if it is the same problem you explain with BS 3200 (only in this room hear the equipment) or is different with BS5BM5.
Another way to avoid change place equipment, is set Study an Active Beolink (Option 6) so we can do only 1st) and with a Power link "Y" directly from BL 4000, you can add BSE (1st or 2nd) generation. The BeoLink PC2/BeoPort Box must take off (draw). What do you thik this?
C) Perhaps sending BS5BM5 Option 0 to the Living (adding Airpot Express) Airplay and the BeoSound 3200 where? to the Study or to the Playroom without losing hearing Cd,Radio,A.Men/CDMen AllRooms. Now you get your first answer we think it is not possible. Are you agreed?
D) Perhaps one interested possibility but changes equipment places is BS5BM5 Option 0 Living (Copy all CD memory 3200 again) "via Aux set Airport Express (Is it all right this)". And Set the BeoSound 3200 to the Study with the BSE (1st Generation) via AUX.And If we want we use Beolink PC2/BeoPort with the Dell Inspiron.
E) Or It is convenient only set directly in the Study a BSE (2nd Generation). What do you Think
F) Study if we set directly BS5BM5 with BL 4000 Option 6 (its the same you explain with BS 3200) only we can hear NMusic NRadio in this room?
THANK YOU

This is the setup I have. Except with a Beosound 3000. And I do not have anything connected to the A.Aux of my Beosound 5. Instead my Essence is connected to the Aux in of the Beosound 3000. All are connected by Masterlink to two Beovisions in different rooms each with speakers. The Beosound 5 and 3000 are in the same room. Although for a short time the 3000 was hidden out of sight in the basement. All sources are available in both rooms. The only difference is I select A aux and go to access the Essence connected to the Beosound 3000.

rviola:
My apologies, but I am confused. Why can't a video and audio product share the same speakers with a Beosound 3200? If the speakers are connected to the BS3 that is exactly what they are doing. Or do you mean there can not be separate connections from the audio and video to the speakers?
And isn't the location of the BS3200 irrelevant? As long as it is connected by Masterlink it can be anywhere, same room, different room?
Sorry again for my confusion. I am sure I am misreading or misunderstanding something.
Barry Santini:Please indicate where the physical input is for accessing the BS5 A.Aux.
Hi very interesting your answers.
a) By the way, the new 'Beolink Converter NL-ML' can help, for example or you always need a Sound System in the room with this dos Beolink Converter. Do you know how is the best connection, and how it works?.
b) IMPORTANT: I understand that it is impossible listen the sound equipment (Bs3200 or Bs5) as secondary equipment in a periferical room without directly speaker connection, where you have a Beosystem or Beovision with connected speakers. (Martin said).
c) Stefan said: I understand you can hear all sources from BS 3200, and BS 5, if BS 3200 (A.Opt 0) Beo Vision 5 (V.Opt 0)? ok Living. and BS5 No Audio Master (Off) . And the by Biocontrol 4 touch N.Music/N.Radio? GO (file music library), N.Music GO 1 (number 1 BControl4) Spotify, and N.Music GO 2 (number 2 BControl4)A.Aux?. I thougth only in Yes Audio Master (ON) BS5BM5 works with CD,Spotify, and Aux.

I do not understand this point, or perhaps I do not agree with it. Maybe the difference is MasterLink verses NetLink? I have a Beovision 7 with connected speakers set to option 2. I also have a Beovision 10 with connected speakers set to option 6 in another room. They are connected by MasterLink as well as being connected to the Beosound 3000 and Beosound 5 by Masterlink. All sources are available through the speakers connected to each Beovision. Also, it is my understanding with Masterlink that it is irrelevant which room the audio systems are located in. They receive their control through the ML. For example, both of my Beosounds are located in the link room with the BV10. At one point the Beosound 3000 was located out f sight in my basement and worked just as it should.
I have the Beosound 3000 set as Audio Master and the Beosound 5 set as Audio Master No

Hi Razlaw,
Sorry for any confusion.
The point I was making is that only main room products can share speakers (the audiomaster, the videomaster, and the source centre if one exists). You can't have audio and video products configured as link room devices (in options 5 / 6) sharing speakers with each other (at least not without resorting to powerlink switches for example).
The BS3 in this instance would presumably be configured as option 5 or option 6 as there is already a video master (the BV5) elsewhere in the setup.
Of course the OP could configure the BS3200 in this room as A.opt 0 if no other audiomaster exists elsewhere, but then operating it via its front panel would trigger the audio to play through the speakers connected to the BV5 in the main room and not through the speakers connected to the BS3 in the same room as the 3200.
rviola: All Rooms we can hear . a) Radio,CD,A Men or CD Men from BS 3200. b) N.Radio N.Music from BS5BM5 [Audio Master: NO] so we can not listen Spotify, CD BS5, and no AUX (to connect example Airport Express) we think.
As Stefan mentioned, you should be able to also listen to BM5 Spotify and BM5 Aux (behringer USB) by pressing N.MUSIC -> GO -> 1 and N.MUSIC -> GO -> 2. You can't use the CD ripper as a CD player when Audiomaster=no though.
There should be no issues with the BM5/BS5 being in a different room to your video and audio masters (BV5 and BS3200) except that if you start the music from the panel of the BS5 itself, it will play using the speakers connected to the BV5 in the lounge and not the speakers connected to the BS3 in the study. You could still operate it within the study by pressing for example N.MUSIC on the remote though.

Razlaw:Has Spotify always worked with Audio Master no? Or was there a software update?
Your memory is correct - initially Spotify only worked in Audio Master mode. This changed in a subsequent software update.
So
Living: BV 5 (5.1) OPT 2 with BS3200 OPT 0, via AUX BSEssence 1st Generation.
Playroom: BSy3 (5.1) OPT 6 with BS5BM5 (Audio Master NO = Off) if you connect USB Behringer you can listen Spotify BC4 N.MUSIC Go 1 and AUX (Airport Express Airplay) BC4 N.MUSIC Go 2.
Could you give me the model and how to connect it to BM5, it works without problem?. (It;s the firs time i heard about USB Behringer. I suppose only you can listen in Playroom. but its very interesting.
I am sorry. I just saw this post. On the Beointegration web page, in the idea catalog there is a page that shows the device to connect the Essence to the Beosound 5. I think there may be a couple of similar products, slight variations. I had my Essence connected with one to the Beosound 5. However after awhile it developed a static problem I still do not know what was causing it but at present I have the Essence connected to my Beosound 3000 instead.
riverstyx: Razlaw:Has Spotify always worked with Audio Master no? Or was there a software update? Your memory is correct - initially Spotify only worked in Audio Master mode. This changed in a subsequent software update. Martin.
I tried to use Spotify on the Beosound this evening for the first time in a long time. Not sure what I am doing wrong, what I may have forgotten, or if something is wrong.
How do I access Spotify on the Beosound 5 with a Beo 4 when the Beosound 3000 is the Audio Master? I can start Spotify using the wheel which starts the speakers connected to my BV7 which is the video master. How do I start Spotify on the BV10's speakers, BV10 is video slave?
Thanks!
Try pressing 'LIST' until N.MUSIC is shown, press 'GO', then press '1'.
If you're using a nav button beo4 I think it's LIST -> N.MUSIC -> centre button -> 1 -> play (or something like that - I'm trying to recall this from memory!)
