Hi

Thought I would take a moment to write a post about something i was playing around with yesterday.

Some of you may know, or now know, that I have the Toshiba BR player with bracket that I purchased from STB Brackets.

Yesterday I was in JB HiFi (a music and electronics store) and decided I was going to buy some physical media (CDs) and I thought perhaps I could use the Toshiba player to do this and would post my findings on the forum.

> A CD can be played quite successfully in the player - I know some ppl like dedicated CD players

> I changed the sound mode on the avant to be "music" and wow did that make all the difference

> I used the B&O app to send the source to the A9 in the dining room and then the A6 in the "bedroom *** study"

> With this Multiroom set up I then turned off the Avant using the BR One and it turned off the Avant and pushed the stand in to its "standby" or "home" setting and the A9 and the A6 continued to play

> If I pressed in the middle of the A9 with both the A9 and the A6 playing the A9 would stop playing and the A6 would continue to play

> If I pressed the power button (standby) on the A9 as it was quiet and the a6 was still audible all products would turn off

All 3 products, Avant, A9 and A6 are wireless and in separate rooms

I used a mix of BR One, BeoRemote App, and B&O Play app. I came to the thinking it would be good to have the 2 apps blended in to one, or have the BR App have the Multiroom functionality so you don't have to flip through 2 apps if you want to change the source back and forth.

And I was playing Iggy Azalea! Haha. Some of you may cringe. :-)

The only kit of mine that shows up on the BeoRemote App is my BLC NL/ML.

Which at this time was echoing the Apple TV which is assigned to the DVD source on the BV8.

You're right - it would be good if it had found my Essence (might be a wifi network issue (no)) or (maybe the Essence has to be activated first (no)). Sad

Depending on your setup of the NL products the Beomusic app should do the trick

See for the linked product in the setup

I agree CarolPA that Beomusic is the app for me at the moment as it provides good control for both sides of the single BLC I have.

As an exercise I tried controlling the Apple TV through the BeoRemote app ... unfortunately the up/down keys were on a separate pane from the left/right keys which were on a different pane from the select key Sad

And neither menu nor exit mapped to the equivalent Apple commands.

So in summary generally more a hindrance than an aide when compared to BeoMusic App or even Apple's own remote app (the short coming of which is that it doesn't power on the BV8).
