Can someone please tell me how I am supposed to command / instruct - with my beo4 - my DVD unit on top of my BeoVision Avant 28 DVD (type 8340).

If it's the same as the Avant 32 you use the buttons on the rear of the top right TV raised display to load/ unload the DVDs. You then use your Beo4 to play the DVDs or follow the DVD screen options.

Your advice was a direct hit (which btw magically coincided with entering the Pulp Fiction dvd for testing the DVD-unit as such  )

Problem solved

thanks a lot.

At a later stage I will try to add a full DVD-function on the beo4.

Yes I did indeed, but as you might conclude from the answer given by Graham, the problem has already been completely solved
