My question is in the subject. I just received it today. I basically want to know if it is good to play music while it is being charged.

Hello, I had 2 of these little beasts and I hadn't noticed any difference in charging time while playing or not. So I assume their is no problem doing it.

Hey thanks. I have kept it plugged in so far. The battery indicator finally turned green after quite some hours. I will keep observing.

Rechargeable battery life is typically defined as the number of full charge-discharge cycles before a significant capacity loss,  but storage also affects capacity.

A lithium-ion rechargeable battery has a specific number of charges, however, a partial discharge reduces stress and prolongs battery life. Extend the life of the battery by charging when necessary e.g. every second day and store in normal room temperature when not in use.

The battery manufacturers' information typically specify lifespan in terms of the number of cycles with capacity dropping linearly to 80% over 300 to 500 recharge cycles.

On average, battery life allows 1000 cycles, although battery performance is rarely specified for more than 400 cycles. This means that mobile phone batteries or other hand-held devices in daily use are not expected to last longer than approximately three years.
