Dear Friends,

I need to exchange original cotton wool filling material in Beovox S45-2 boxes. It smells a lot Sad

What will be your choice for damping material inside speaker?

Thanks,

Paul.

Err..  cotton wool?
B&O already used other materials in other speakers and found cotton wool the best for this model, so that's what I would stick with.
The original wool is always slightly "smelly",which is probably what you are experiencing, but it's a sealed speaker so
no problem at all when assembled.

I am not technician, but know, that damping material is important part of speaker and was chosen carefully by B&O people.

May be wood is smelling ... as an old stuff at home (my wife is complaining little bit).

I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, then sanded carefully and treated with bee wax as Frede recommends. All processes are beautifully described here on forum. Speakers look awesome, sound is also very nice. I am very satisfied.
