As far as I know, play products uses only bluetooth which means it can't be controlled by the beoremote one.
You can use essence remote to adjust volume and skip track.
Maybe the upcoming new Beoremote one BT which has the capability of bluetooth.

I also own an A6 & Beosound 35. In the literature it states the 35 can be controlled by the Beo4 remote or Beo1 remote. Over a month now, since the 35 purchase and still no answer from the dealer. He states he is waiting for B&O tech to get back on how to control the 35 with either remote. Does anybody know?
When new, the 35 had connection issues, couldn't reach the dealer so called (wait for it....) B&O service Dept. I was told they couldn't help with my 35 connection issues as they could only "respond" to issues or concerns with B&O Play Products. REALLY?? Thank goodness I had the A6 in my kitchen so the Tech "agreed" to help me with my 35 problem. It appears you need to know the correct "key words" in order to get help with your purchases. For those wondering if I mis-dialed, no, I called the same number as I had in the past, not a special B&O Play hotline. Same number, worse attitude.
Such a shame, B&O-a premier company with (mostly) premier products and service so poor it makes you wonder why they even bother to answer their phones at all..
Two of the dealers that sold me the A6 & BS35 are still in business and are trying (still waiting for B&O for answers). The rest of the dealers I purchased from are all gone, out of business, but Tech Support keeps telling me to call them if I need help. And another reason I really don't like B&O Play yet... I actually like the A9 or A6 products, and my livingroom is perfect for A9 and bedroom for the A6, however, I don't want to fiddle with my iPhone and a touch app without any tactile responce, when I need to turn on the radio. In the bedroom I need to just reach out and press the radio button(which I can do even in the dark), not take my phone and get blinded by the light because I would like to listen to music.
Sigh !!!!
They are loosing all the old customers that loves the way the hardware remotes feel in your hand. They could easily make an updated Beo4 that could be used with the play products,
Let's wait and see if BR1-BT might do the job... I doubt it though.

Great, so at least the A9 works with Beo4, thanx for correcting me :)

Do you have the 1st or 2nd gen A9? I've seen FAQ info about using a remote with the 1st gen A9, but there is no mention of IR support on the B&O webpage regarding the 2nd gen A9.
