In the wake of the Beovision 14 what to expect from the Avant NG and Horizon?

So now that we know what is and isn't included with the Beovision 14, what are your hopes for the upcoming Avant NG and Horizon?

With the Beovision 14 lacking HDR, I would think it is likely that none of the 2016 models will have it.  Ridiculous if that is the case.  It wouldn't be a problem if these were budget TV's but these are supposed to be premium products where the feature set should be as impressive as the design.

And if that is the case, then the Avant NG is merely just receiving an Android operating system - is this enough of an upgrade?

I'll be sticking with my BV11.

At some point, if my BV5 fails, I will gut it and insert the latest panel by another manufacturer.

That can't be right? The £400 LG has HDR as standard and do all of the new basic range of Samsung. Surely, this is a printing error? I'm sure that it's a mistake UNLESS B&O have bought in a load of old panels at a super cheap price, which quite frankly, would NOT surprise me!

I heard it was just a software upgradeErm..

Everything that has come out today from B&O and other sites have said there will be no HDR in the BV 14.  And if they're not willing to put it in the BV14, then why would they put it in the Avant NG and certainly not the 'cheaper' Horizon.

It would be wonderful if it was a printing error or somehow it can be upgraded with a firmware update but it's not looking likely.  I think you may be right that they had a load of old panels they wanted rid of.

This is going to be a bestseller TV comparable to Moment's success.

I bet Chinese investors are opening champagne as we speak. Next 20% of B&O shares they'll acquire at the (even more) discounted price.

Don't the new BV14 also have fewer power link outputs than before? Now you can connect 10 speakers by wire to the Avant and just eight to the BV14.

Also avant has 6 HDMI and bv14 just four.

The only new port I see is aux audio in for sound (which avant and bv11 has plus analog video).

On the avant and bv11 a lot of ports are for "future use". I'm sure those would be interesting to use for what they were designed for. I guess now we will never ever know.. Perhaps even an HDMI out for projector ala cinema style.
