I have a Marantz NR1607 that is connected to a BeoLab Transmitter 1 using an RCA cable and a B&O RCA-RJ45 adapter.. The Transmitter is paired to the BeoLab 18's. I've noticed that there is static coming from the tweeters of the BeoLab 18's, even when no music is playing.
I thought it might be the receiver, but I disconnected it and the static is still there, so the static is from the Transmitter.
(I can connect the BeoLab 18's to a B&O device wirelessly and there is no static, so it is not the speakers).
How can i fix this?
if it helps, the current settings from obtained with a USB stick are:
;WPL-TX (svn:3065) Current Settings:RCA impedance:HIGHRCA triggerlevel:200RCA timeout:900TOSLink timeout:1RCA and TOSLink gain:-3ALWAYS ON:FALSEMULTIPLE PL SOURCES:FALSE
It is mostly a hiss. it appears to be coming from the tweeters of both speakers.
I don't have this if the speaker are paired with my BeoSound Moment. (i need the Transmitters so I can use my non B&O TV via the receiver)
They supposed to make a 'white-noise' hiss.
As you stated that the hiss is not there withthe moment; some recievers are not grounded properly. Is the reciever connected to sat/cable device through hdmi or cable on it's own?
the hiss continues when the music is playing and is audible. there is no hiss at all when they are wirelessly connected to the BeoSound Moment.
It isn't the receiver, because if i unplug the receiver from the BeoLab Transmitter, the hiss continues. If i unplug the Transmitter the hiss stops (as the speakers are no longer paired with anything.)
The speakers always have a 'healthy' white noise hiss. As the moment swnd digital audio straigh from source it could also send 'gain' and 'mute' like signals. As the transmitter always has to open the gain becouse of the analogue input the 'healthy' hiss remains. It's hard to test this theorie. Maybe gain settings are needed?
they are connected wirelessly. and there is absolutely no noise when the play from the moment. only when they are paired with the transmitter is the hiss there.
As i said, the transmitter converts analog-in to digital. The transmitter sends a uninterupted singal to the BL with high gain. The moment can 'pause' broadcast / between songs and noise is masked. Touch the phono connectors while the transmitter is broadcasting; noise.
The transmitter gransmit with gain setup too high.
ok. yes, touching the phono plugs or the phono cable increases the hiss. so i need to determine how to reduce the gain on the transmitter, probably with a command on a the usb stick? (i do hear the hiss with music as well when it is playing).
Imagine that the DAC 'recording' the incoming audio is like a microphone and re-emit's this to the BL. If the mic is too sensitive you hear noise. (Cooky analogy but should make sense) What is the quality of the cable's? Is the receiver grounded? I'm not sure how to adjust these setting, ask the dealer.
in thinking about this. the issue is not the receiver, but the transmitter. it still sends a hiss even when i unplug the RCA cable from the RJ45 adapter. ill look in the settings file for the transmitter and see if there is something to adjust.
I have the same problem. My Transmitter 1 settings are the same as yours. If I turn the preamp up high the speakers work fine, but loud - not a real solution. Have you been able to change the Transmitter 1 settings and do you have any suggestions for what to change? I am having problems doing that - it won't accept my changes via USB.
